If she can remember where and when she bought the ticket and the man serving her can remember her.

These tickets should be in some kind of readable state after a wash.

Did she self publicise this ie go to the press? She seems to be the only one whose name is known out of all the other scammers.

Stratter5 · 27/01/2016 12:37

All seems legit lol

BillSykesDog · 27/01/2016 12:39

I think it was the guy who sold it to her that sold the story initially. But then she outed herself by posting all over social media so the press ran with it.

Do you get the impression Camelot (or whoever it is now) don't trust him? They don't seem to rate his CCTV evidence very highly.

Katenka · 27/01/2016 17:45

West Midlands CPS has confirmed she is going on trial in March. Charged with 2 counts of theft from a house.

Andrewofgg · 27/01/2016 17:48

That's going to be a bunfight for the press, isn't it?

Katenka · 27/01/2016 18:00

I think so andrew it was a 'distraction' theft.

So she is accused of robbing someone while in their home. It's quite awful.

It happened to my grandad before he went in a home. 2 people knocked and asked to use the phone as their car had broken down. One robbed him while he showed the other one where the phone was.

He was never the same.

I imagine if she has robbed an elderly person it will be splashed all over the news in March.

Andrewofgg · 27/01/2016 18:13

DW has just remarked that for the tabloid press she's the gift that keeps on giving!

bevelino · 27/01/2016 20:50

If Camelot know where and when the winning ticket was purchased they would not need to investigate every case and what they say makes little sense. CCTV will only help in a limited way as all it will show is people buying tickets and not necessarily the winning ticket. Anyone can create a lottery ticket on a computer and put it through a washing machine. Camelot have a dilemma on their hands and know it, which is why they have made announcements about fraudsters.

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/12126031/It-wont-be-her-Woman-claiming-33m-lottery-prize-ruled-out-from-prize.html

She's been ruled out, what a peculiar woman.

Behooven · 27/01/2016 22:19

Peculiar = dishonest

Katenka · 28/01/2016 06:40

She isn't peculiar.

She is down right dishonest and possibly a thief. Definitely a fraudster

Tram10 · 28/01/2016 07:08

Well that's her 5 minutes of fame over ....... until she has to turn up in court to face accusations of being a thief.

livingintheNL · 28/01/2016 09:36

I feel a bit sorry for her, she probably has MH issues. Even someone not very bright would know that camelot know where and when the ticket was bought so this wouldn't cut the mustard.

I do feel like shes been used for publicity.

I dont play the lottery as its a tax on people that dont understand maths.

Viviennemary · 28/01/2016 11:08

I was convinced this was a scam from the first I heard of it and posted earlier in the thread. Glad the 'mystery' has been cleared up. I expect she'll be on Big Brother next or maybe Benefits Street. She seems an ideal candidate for both.

diddl · 28/01/2016 12:52

Well I'm not sure how it all works with a ticket.

I mean if that's your proof of purchase & it'd illegible, that's pretty much tough really, isn't it?

If there is some otherproof, fair enough, but it surely isn't up to Camelot to prove that it's you, is it?

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 28/01/2016 13:10

Oh well. I don't suppose you can blame her for trying.Grin.

ComposHatComesBack · 28/01/2016 13:45

With oh getting self righteous about it ... yes you can. She attempted to steal 33m pounds of someone else's money. The fact that it was such an inexpert attempt doesn't make it any better. The fact that it was money due to go to good causes makes it even more morally dubious.

Andrewofgg · 28/01/2016 13:47

it's not a tax on anyone. Nobody has to play. My Leftie DSis calls it a tax on the poor which I regard as patronising.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 28/01/2016 13:47

Jeez tonight. It was a joke. Lighten up.
The world really has craked its face.

Katenka · 28/01/2016 14:30

I dont play the lottery as its a tax on people that dont understand maths.

absolute rubbish. The odds of women are available very easily.

How is it a tax when you choose to play.

She isn't a victim. She is a serial fraudster. Lots of people have claimed they won. Her story went viral as she posted it on Facebook herself

flatbellyfella · 28/01/2016 14:44

Camelot has just announced that the true winner has just come forward to claim the money.

Gunting · 28/01/2016 14:45

The person with the valid claim is staying anonymous

Katenka · 28/01/2016 14:46

Can't help but wonder what they thought of all this Grin

Gunting · 28/01/2016 14:51

On behalf of all worcesterians I'd like to say she is not representative of all of Worcester and it is a lovely city... Honest!
