I'm probably being a horrible judgemental person. But I've yet to see a neck tattoo that doesn't look hideous.

Are there any out there?

Probably against the rules to attach a public photo from a dating site but seen quite a few baddies

'I predict that tattoo removal will soon become a very big, and very lucrative business.'

It's already a boom industry.

Just look at Shane Lynch - from yummy to stomach churning grossness in a short time.
I can't look at him now. His neck tattoos are really horrible.
When he was on celeb masterchef I had to keep covering the screen with my hand when he was on.
I don't like them at all but I'd still do David Beckham Grin

I agree. Tattoos that are a well thought through strong reflection of your own personality are fine of course. Tattoos which are a permanent version of a temporary fashion statement are a bit silly but if that's a tiny little dolphin on your ankle or arse antlers which are only visible with low slung trousers then you'll probably be fine. But some of the current style of full sleeve sailor style tattoos are a dreadful combination of large, high fashion (hence will date) and really really difficult to hide or remove.

Bonnie, completely agree - I've said that in previous threads too! I am seriously considering buying shares in companies that remove tattoos for my DCs - 20/30 years from now there will be queues coming out of every tatt removal clinic in the country.

I think that tattoo removals use the same kind of laser technology as other cosmetic applications, and this industry has reached maturity. I have laser facials and my aesthetician has mentioned how little money there is in laser procedures because everyone has one.

Well, whatever removal techniques are coming in...will watch the market with interest. Definitely going to happen though - the current trend for very large, very colourful tattoos will change and whilst there will always be a core number of people who like them, it's the mainstream fashion for them that will change. It always happens.

Never mind neck tattoos, it's the random Celtic symbols or whatever at the base of the spine that really make me cringe. But don't get me wrong, when done properly I think tattoos can look amazing, especially the intricate full sleeve ones.
