I'm the opposite. I replaced a washer dryer with just a washing machine.

Hmmm just came on here to search for WD reviews. Think I need a new one. My hotpoint one is about 9 years old and I think on its way out. We hardly ever use the dryer part but is handy on occasions. I only have space for one appliance.

I also couldn't be without a dishwasher but can and have lived without a proper tumble dryer. I don't think it does clothes any good.

Any recommendations for good washer dryer gratefully received from people with a which subscription.

Per this thread AEG are worth a go.

Why not do some research into what you might want before you go to the shop?
And the !!!! comes off as kind of hysterical.

Watching this as I was about to buy a washer dryer. Might go for 2 separate units now and put the dryer in the garage. Hmm

ZenNudist · 18/01/2016 18:49

Bramble pie I'm getting another one - my hotpoint has lasted for ages and they're meant to be cheap and nasty. They don't dry very well but sometimes you just need a bit of stuff drying

Just seen a Bosch one on ao.com seems just what I'd want but kind of ££££

NO NO NO to the washer / dryer! Start to finish takes absolutely ages and it can only do v small loads. I have experience with three of them - never again. But I couldn't live without my dishwasher. Miele or Bosch.

I'm astonished to see so many people preferring a dishwasher over a tumble drier - I used to have both, and never used the dishwasher. I now have neither - but the Dri Buddy a PP recommended has made a huge difference to my life: for the past five years, winters are basically full of clothes horses, week in, week out. I am amazed also at how much space I have back!

In my last job, I had a week's worth of clothes, linens, towels etc - having no drier for the last five years (no room whatsoever) means my clothing etc has grown exponentially to cope with the drying time.

I've got a washer dryer, indesit and its fine though I don't use it much for drying. Would much rather have a dishwasher than a tumble dryer though!

Chattymummyhere · 18/01/2016 20:14

No to a washer dryer. We had one in our first house, it lasted 3 years and was repaired 3 times in those years. I now have separate washer and dryer now I have the space and would never go back I can dry and wash at the same time. Dryer used to take ages on the w/d

Absolute bollocks. My AEG will wash and dry a super king size set of bedding (duvet cover, sheet, 6 pillow cases) in around 3 hours 48 minutes. It's a 9kg wash and 7kg dry machine, which is far from tiny.

whois · 19/01/2016 12:50

And our crappy indisit will still wash and dry a super king duvet cover, sheet and 5 pillow cases!

whois · 19/01/2016 12:57

But if you didn't have the space...would you rather have NO dryer or an integrated machine? Thats the question on this thread. No one is disputing that separate is better if you have the space.
