Storing toilet cleaning bottles next to the loo?

Am i the only one who dislikes seeing an array of toilet cleaning and bleach bottles next to the loo or on top of the cistern when i go to someone else's house?

Maybe bit the only one, but this has never crossed my mind as something to be bothered by.
What is it you don't like about it?

SwedishEdith · 30/12/2015 18:44

Where else are they meant to go? Is this another problem I now need to angst about?

RatherBeRiding · 30/12/2015 18:44

You'd hate mine, then! Grin Both loos look like the cleaning aisle at Asda. Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

BolshierAryaStark · 30/12/2015 18:46

This is where I keep mine, it's convenient so not really that fussed about anyones dislike of it tbh.

munkisocks · 30/12/2015 18:46

Easy access

sooperdooper · 30/12/2015 18:46

No, it's never crossed my mind, ever

Why's it an issue? (Or a non-issue, because I personally won't suddenly start to think it is)

penguinsarecool · 30/12/2015 18:47

I dont know. I store mine away as i hate clutter.

It bothers me now, but only because I think what if DC (4 & 2) get at them?

Pre-DC, my toilets all had toilet cleaning products next to them. It's a logical place to keep them.

molyholy · 30/12/2015 18:48

Mine are down the side of the loo. Quite inconspicuous unless you're having a right old nosey. Its easier to give the bathroom a clean if they are kept up there. Never seen them in a display on a cistern before in my life, but why does it bother you?

sooperdooper · 30/12/2015 18:49

Oh and also, it makes sense to me to leave cleaning stuff there because I'd rather if it's needed by anyone they can grab it - I know it's frowned on on here for visitors to poo in toilets but since I think that's the best place for people to do it, I'd rather they can also splosh some cleaner down afterwards Grin

Scarletforya · 30/12/2015 18:50

I don't like to see them down on the floor beside/behind the loo. I always imagine droplets of stray wee going on the bottles!

yuk!

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 30/12/2015 18:50

You'd hate mine too.

oneangrydwarf · 30/12/2015 18:51

Best place for it (discreetly hidden up the side if poss) and once my kids are grown I fully intend to start keeping it there again. It was removed as soon as DC1 became mobile.

idiuntno57 · 30/12/2015 18:54

Mine are in the loo because I use them to clean the loo frequently. Kitchen cleaning in kitchen to clean kitchen regularly. Hoover, polish etc under stairs.

Why would you want the fag of going to get the relevant stuff from somewhere else each time?

idiuntno57 · 30/12/2015 18:55

NB on the safety front they all have safety caps so can't be opened by small people of whom I have many (hence need for frequent cleaning.....)

Homeriliad · 30/12/2015 18:56

Wouldn't bother me to see bottles in people's restrooms. I don't know where our cleaning products are stored; I leave that for the maids to sort out.

Gottagetmoving · 30/12/2015 18:58

Mine are behind the wash hand basin pedestal. You wouldn't notice them if you weren't looking for them.

penguinsarecool · 30/12/2015 18:59

Its best they are stored away from little hands though.

Agree OP. Looks awful. Should be stored in a cupboard.
In saying that im guilty of the dreaded bleach bottle

Lndnmummy · 30/12/2015 19:04

dementedpixie · 30/12/2015 19:05

Hate them being in a cupboard, feeling like I'm getting things like my spare loo roll and sanitary pads bleach-y.

I like to keep mine next to loo, at least I did till I had toddlers.
