Just had a blazing row with "D"Bro over rinising dishes after washing them.

I went to put a plate I was washing on the drainer and he roared at me for not rinsing it

Confused

Who is the weirdo here?

OP posts:
90sforever · 27/12/2015 19:03

I think OP might've been winding everyone up worked a treat

GnomePhone · 27/12/2015 19:04

To return to the penis beaker, would you drink out of one that had been thoroughly 'rubbed out' by a tea towel?

GnomePhone · 27/12/2015 19:05

The op does seem to have disappeared :D

cozietoesie · 27/12/2015 19:06

Rinsed quickly with some water and then filled with whisky? You're darned tooting, Gnome.

Enjolrass · 27/12/2015 19:08

For the poster who asked if people would shower after a bath.....no I wouldn't.

But then I don't get a bath to get clean. I have a bath to relax. If I want to get clean I have a shower.

I shower everyday, have a bath about once a month

GnomePhone · 27/12/2015 19:14

Lol cozie. Whisky is a disinfectant too

Debbriana1 · 27/12/2015 19:18

Damn ! @ anothertime. That is minging. I didn't think I would use that term on Mn. But that friend with a cup of chamomile deserves it.

Ridingthegravytrain · 27/12/2015 19:19

Is the word rinse starting to look really weird to anyone else?

I use a dishwasher and think that everything tastes rank. Must be the rinse aid. Maybe I should rinse everything after it comes out

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 27/12/2015 19:25

I never rinse. Have never tasted washing up liquid on anything. It drains off, that's what a draining board is for. I would rinse something if I was going to use it immediately. I have also rinsed if there is an excess of bubbles but not normally.

And yes I wash the shampoo out of my hair and the soap out of my clothes. But they are both porous and aren't left to drip dry on a receptacle designed for that.

Anyone that says they can tell the difference on a plate which has no visible bubble marks is lying.

Debbriana1 · 27/12/2015 19:26

Allmybestfriend I was twice and I don't even think about it. Wash with soap to save water the rinse then all afterwards. I can't think of doing differently.

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 27/12/2015 19:54

What do You Mean -"still" smiliassenseofsnow? I've not interacted with you once, noticed you posting, Or discussed emulsifiers. Patronising much?

I meant that your response to someone explaining the emulsifying thing to you showed no evidence whatsoever of having understood the point.

And I'm not sure you're in any position to complain about the tone of other people's posts, just going by this thread... Hmm

Lweji · 27/12/2015 19:56

You won't die from drinking your own pee. Yet most people who don't rinse probably wouldn't do it. Why?

AnotherTimeMaybe · 27/12/2015 19:56

Debbriana1 I know!!! She's holding the cup 'under' while she's doing the jobHmm I have a feeling she's just rinsing it off with a bit of water later!

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 27/12/2015 19:57

Anyone that says they can tell the difference on a plate which has no visible bubble marks is lying.

I can tell that things need to be rinsed due to the occasions on which I've gone to put a washed plate down, after having rinsed it briefly, and noticed there's still a tiny piece of food sitting on it, which isn't actually attached to the plate and has instead been picked up from the washing up bowl water and then moved around but not quite off the plate during the rinse.

Lweji · 27/12/2015 19:58

But I'm intrigued by how a "blazing row! about rinsing dishes goes.

I expect she refused to acknowledge she was very, very wrong. Wink

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 27/12/2015 20:03

That was obviously not what I meant. It was in reference to being able to taste the washing up liquid.

toldmywrath · 27/12/2015 20:08

We have a dog wash pre wash so our plates are always free from residue anyway. So no bits clogging up our dishwasher, nor washing bowl.Wink

GnomePhone · 27/12/2015 20:12

Superyum told :D

90sforever · 27/12/2015 20:13

Who explained the emulsifying thing? I have no idea what you're referring to

fruitpastille · 27/12/2015 20:16

I don't rinse (although I would in France as I know they do!). It's no big deal. There's a lot of hysteria about it here. I expect the rinsing would have to be very thorough to eliminate every trace of soap and I should think that the antibac wipes and spray that so many people are keen on are a lot more harmful! Or do you all rinse after using those too? Nobody has ever commented on how I do the dishes or turned down any offers to do so. Most people I know don't rinse either, or at least I have never noticed if they do.

Carpet in the bathroom though - that is minging Grin

SalemSaberhagen · 27/12/2015 20:19

told well that's a whole different level of disgusting Envy

knobblyknee · 27/12/2015 20:21

Him for shouting. I rinse, but I dont shout at people that dont. Shock

luchadragon · 27/12/2015 20:23

Rinse you must Xmas Wink

ElinorRochdale · 27/12/2015 20:27

Gross washing up habits: having a bloody silly washing up bowl clogging up a perfectly good sink

What's gross, or silly, about a washing up bowl? It uses a lot less hot water than a sink, and if you drop something in a plastic bowl it's far less likely to break than if you drop it in the sink. Plus you can take the bowl outside afterwards to throw the water on the garden.

Those of you who have all these pieces of food floating around in your washing up water, don't you scrape your plates first? I scrape plates (if there's anything left on them), throw away dregs of drinks, before my washing up gets anywhere near the water.

Dipankrispaneven · 27/12/2015 20:29

if you don't use too much washing up liquid, you don't get load of suds dripping off things.

But you do get loads of dirt from the water dripping off things.

As for the person who thought it all dripped off, have you never heard of evaporation? And do you not realise that both evaporation and dripping leave a residue?
