Am I missing some thing? ? What is it with this pie face game - I just don't get it. We went to some friends today and neither of my kids or us would go near it. What is fun about getting cream in your face. Seems to have been a big seller this Xmas loads of videos of families getting splatted on my fb but really don't get it .

do you remember Mrs Doubtfire? When the mask flew out of the window, and then he dipped his face in the cake while the social worker was visiting?
yeah, it also makes the skin softer :-)

Furiosa · 26/12/2015 22:44

It's Russian Roulette for kids! Whats not to like?! Grin

Hulababy · 26/12/2015 22:45

MissMoo - we've got Bean Boozled.
My go was vile - rotting egg apparently. Was inedible!!! Took two
Extra glasses of fizz to rid myself of the taste. Seemed even worse than the Harry Potter bean flavours!

No Pie Face here fortunately - not one I'd fancy.

cakedup · 26/12/2015 22:46

DS got this game for xmas but it doesn't work anywhere near as well as I thought. We squirted cream on the tray bit but it didn't flip up very fast or reach the face very well. Have I got a dud one?

Sparklingbrook · 26/12/2015 22:47

I used to quite like Gooey Louie. The one with the bogies and his brain pops out.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 26/12/2015 22:48

I don't see the attraction either. Lots of FB friends have posted pictures of themselves playing it & it just looks, well, 'messy' Confused.

I guess DD probably would find it funny, but then she'd find it hilarious if I went shopping with my knickers showing, and I'm not about to do that either Wink.

It's not about anyone taking themselves "too seriously" or being a killjoy or anything - it's just people liking different things.

Sallystyle · 26/12/2015 22:51

Got it.

It is completely shit.

pictish · 26/12/2015 22:55

I don't the appeal. I wouldn't have liked it as a kid either. But to each their own.

TurnOffTheTv · 26/12/2015 22:55

'Neither of my kids or us would go near it'

Goodness your family sound boring.

xmasseason · 26/12/2015 23:08

I wouldn't like it either.

ReadyPlayerOne · 26/12/2015 23:08

Glad it's brought joy to others, but it's not for me. I'm quite disappointed about many of the childrens board games advertised in the run up to Christmas. All variations on the same theme, with an emphasis on yuck (Doggy Doo, Og on the Bog). My kids think they look funny, but they will have to live without. Can't wait til they're older though so they can join in and play Settlers of Catan, Elder Sign, Munchkin, Pandemic etc Grin

CFSsucks · 26/12/2015 23:13

How rude turnoffthetv. People are entitled to not like something without being boring. Hmm

WorraLiberty · 26/12/2015 23:15

I've never heard of it but it looks like a lot of fun!

helenahandbag · 26/12/2015 23:16

Stuff like that sends my anxiety levels through the roof, I can't even bear to watch videos of other people playing it. I'm sure it's great fun but not something I would enjoy playing.

Chopz · 26/12/2015 23:16

Give me pandemic or cards against humanity any day

00100001 · 26/12/2015 23:17

There was really no need for that comment turnoffthetv

TurnOffTheTv · 26/12/2015 23:20

People are absolutely allowed to dislike something.
I'm still voting boring.

rainbowstardrops · 26/12/2015 23:21

It is very funny! Especially if quite a few of you are all playing it Grin

Sparklingbrook · 26/12/2015 23:22

Seems everything is a no no on MN this Christmas. Grin

TurnOffTheTv · 26/12/2015 23:23

Apparently so Sparkling

Lolimax · 26/12/2015 23:27

It looks fun. Where can you get it?

TinklyLittleLaugh · 26/12/2015 23:27

It's a bit unreasonable to have big expectations of your kids joining in with your idea of a good game when they are adults, if you don't make the effort to join in with their idea of fun when they are little kids.
Cream pies in the face all round is a very bonding experience.Grin

expatinscotland · 26/12/2015 23:31

Looks shit. Had never heard of it or cards against whatever.

OvO · 26/12/2015 23:37

We played it and it was a great laugh.

No rules to learn.

No faffing about for half an hour setting up fucking Monopoly.

No rage or tears fucking Frustration, and that's just me.

It was hilarious watching Grandad get it every single time! Xmas Grin

ZanyMobster · 26/12/2015 23:39

We played Pie Face with the kids in the day then Cards against Humanity with the adults (and a 17 yo) in the evening. Never laughed so much throughout a Xmas day before. My parents loved it all too, my mum was a bit anxious about pie face though as she hates mess and DS2 (7) gets upset with people laughing at him but he was happy to watch everyone else get splattered.
