To have realised I have an irrational dislike of some names for family members

Nan
Nanna
Great Nan
Aunty
Mom

I realise it's irrational (and if you use any of the above, please don't take offence.)

But does anyone else hate the 'sound' of them? Xmas Blush

Tends to be West Mids Emma

Yeah it's west mids/Black Country, I'm the only one out of my friends who says "mum". Everyone else has a mom

I'm from the West Midlands and I have a mom and I am a mommy. I hate the sound of mum and mummy- just sounds really off to my lowly West Mids ears!

I really don't like Gran either. We have a Grandma and a Nan AND a Nanna. But really, who cares what other families call each other?!

My stepsiblings say Mom. They're from Sheffield.
My friends parents are Gu (female, shortening of the welsh mamgu) and Gor. Took me ages to work out that this wasn't a Childs mispronunciation of grandad but a shortening of his name- Gordon!
