Our lovely dil is 7 months pregnant. We are giving them a big cash present to help but want to get her a few nice gifts. Can't do smellies. Ideas anyone?

There is a massage you can have when you're pregnant where you lie on a sort of heated water bed. It's amazing and was the best thing anyone got me when I was pregnant!

Sallyhasleftthebuilding · 21/12/2015 23:54

You can get giant mits that attach to the pram... much easier than gloves.
I would have loved those!
Nice fluffy dressing gown... still want one!!
Makeup?

Hatethis22 · 21/12/2015 23:54

Not GOT! The Red Wedding is horrible enough without being pregnant.

bettythebuilder · 21/12/2015 23:55

Yanbu , get her a baby feed wheel, helpful present bf or ff. Lovely snuggly dressing gown?

TimeToMuskUp · 21/12/2015 23:56

Oh no, Hate is right, not GoT at all. But another box set. With less stabby nonsense.

munkisocks · 21/12/2015 23:58

Yes big dressing gown for hospital when in labour. Cup holder for pram! I had to slot my can of coke in side of baby's change bag and hope it didn't spill when walking baby today Grin

Thatsbetter · 22/12/2015 00:01

The White Company do nice lounge wear, I think they are a great idea for pre/post birth.

ladymariner · 22/12/2015 00:13

I don't care what section you've posted this in, I think you're lovely and I hope your dil appreciates you, what a nice thread....merry Christmas Xmas Smile

GabiSolis · 22/12/2015 00:17

I like the cinema idea and the adult colouring books.

(I also don't care which section you posted in! You sound like a lovely MIL!)

ProcrastinatorGeneral · 22/12/2015 00:18

Cup holder is a fab idea if she is having a pushchair (somewhat redundant if baby is going to be carried), and if you know what brand of pushchair quite a few have ones that will actually fit the system available.

Depending how much of a great you're willing to go, au would have loved a pair of warm winter boots when I had my winter baby, my feet were frozen a lot of the time.

MidniteScribbler · 22/12/2015 00:18

When I had DS, someone gave me a beautiful necklace with two interlocking rings (I'm a single parent) to symbolise my and DS be interconnected. I still adore it and think it was a beautiful gift to treasure. Perhaps similar, but with three interlocking rings?

Iwonderwhy123 · 22/12/2015 02:24

Don't care if you've posted in wrong section you sound like a lovely MIL Xmas Smile
One of the best things I got was an insulated cup with a lid - can have a HOT cup of coffee safely whilst feeding DD or playing with her on the floor.

elliejjtiny · 22/12/2015 02:52

Can you be my mil Grin.

A v-shaped pillow with lots of spare pillowcases, nice box set, pj's, new washbag with toothbrush, toothpaste, flannel, shampoo etc in.

manamanah · 22/12/2015 03:02

I'm now 34 weeks and awake at 3am (like I am every night) with shocking leg cramps. Happened the last time too. If someone bought be a leg massage they could own me. Oh and with ds1 I bought a kindle-easier to read with one hand than a book.

TheHouseOnTheLane · 22/12/2015 03:51

What about a gorgeous cushion? Nice to lean against....and just because they're lovely.

knobblyknee · 22/12/2015 04:37

I bought my lovely DIL an adult colouring in book and an amethyst pendant, theres a great selection on Ebay :)

PitilessYank · 22/12/2015 05:27

How about a subscription box? I am getting them for various folks this year. She would get monthly deliveries of goodies in the theme of your choice. There are ones featuring socks, Japanese toys, Young Adult books, Harry Potter stuff, etc.

You can see explanations of many of them here:

brightnearly · 22/12/2015 05:45

A babysitter.

1frenchfoodie · 22/12/2015 06:41

I second really nice pjamas/robe or subscription - depending on her likes you can get flowers, chocolate club, fancy cheese and bonus is they continue after the birth. I'm nearly 7 months pregnant and would be a bit bemused cheesed off if sombody treated me to a body pillow though I understand they are popular.

PhoenixReisling · 22/12/2015 06:54

Thomas sabo bracelet and charm or voucher so she can choose her own?

choclate!

Facial/massage/manicure/pedicure

Jo Malone candle and bath oil?

Cross over bag? Fossil bags are nice very handy with children as it keeps your hands free

Sallyhasleftthebuilding · 22/12/2015 07:09

Mana - eat a a banana at tea time - no leg cramps x

ftmsoon · 22/12/2015 07:11

OP, please don't get a cup holder for her pram if she has an Oyster travel system. Me and DD ended up covered in coffee as mine was rubbish! DH didn't believe me, he got covered too!
Something nice for her specifically is lovely. My SIL gave me bubble bath, lovely stuff but I never take baths!

Fratelli · 22/12/2015 07:13

I can't believe people are bothered about which section you post in! You sound lovely op. How about something like a graze box?

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 22/12/2015 07:14

Seriously, the first reply was 'why are you posting in AIBU?' Grin

Lovely pjs, books, chocolate and i also have a lovely mil. Ignore the rude mntters. Lots of people post in aibu as you get a quick response. I posted about my dishwasher once in aibu when something went missing in it and i couldnt find it and was really worried. Luckily mntters helped me quickly without nasty comments and the problem was solved in 5 minutes before i got too worried. I do thank the very helpful mntters. Have a lovely xmas op xxx
