Is it ok to get teens some chocolate for Christmas?

They don;t need anything....nothing we could afford anyway but I'd like to send them a token gift.

If I got a voucher it would be paltry....can I get them some nice chocolate in a mug or something?

Is it naff?

I think that's a nice idea. I've done similar this year for some teens. I don't know what to give them but don't want to spend a lot so money would seem a bit pathetic if you know what I mean!

Yes it's fine.
My 13yo would I've it, I'd prefer consumable stuff to unwanted stuff that gets left lying around.

Selection box, nice chocolate (although wasted on my young teen), Christmas thing like the big long jaffa cake tubes, or the wispa one.

For the teens I know, it wouldn't even need to be nice chocolate. Any chocolate would do!

Oh sorry I thought you said or a mug! So a mug on its own which is why I was against that.

Chocolate in a mug is nice. But I'd rather have more chocolate probably :-)

My teens spend the whole of Christmas Day slowly eating their body weight in chocolate.

Of course they'd love it - much more than the £5 worth of 'tat' Hmm my friend sends my teenager, stuff from Tiger or similar that he has absolutely no interest in. I know its a kind thought but really, he'd much rather have chocolate.

I remember getting a box of Milk Tray when I was about 13. I felt sooooo grown up.

When I was 16 my boyfriend gave me a box of Dairy Milk minis in a festive container as part of my present and I liked it.

And I'm not much of a chocolate person - I don't have a particularly sweet tooth!

I think it's fine. If you wanted something a bit more interesting than milk tray (although delicious) you could get them some of the fancy flavoured bars from places like montezuma or Choco loco so it's a bit more interesting finding out new flavours etc. I have some this for a lot of family

I have a 15.0o budget for friend's teens as always want money or vouchers. I tend to spend a 10.0O on this and 5.00 on chocs. Big toblerones are bit more grown up or a tin of celebrations. Walnut whips etc. Their moms say theyvlove it and something to open. Sometimes do lynx set with small chocolate if bit older

MY teenage boys 14 and 16 would be thrilled with chocolate for xmas.

Even my lactose intolerant teen likes chocolate for Christmas!
She may not be able to eat it all on the day like the others but she will still be happy to receive it.

Meant to say these are quite close friends kids that's why spend but more. They buy same for mine. Just choc on own fine too

Oh and plain cadburys selection box or similar is fine. Doesn't have to be fancy.

My teens have a big tub of choc each year
Teens can have limited funds and have to manage allowances etc and to have their own tin with a film tis very much enjoyed !!!!

A big hit with mine is " microwave cakes in a mug". You can buy the cake mix in a little packet and a mug to go with? They love them.

I have taught them to cook but mug cakes in the microwave are obviously far superior HmmGrin

For a friends child I got a popcorn holder and popcorn and retro sweets .in the past he has stored sweets I have got him in his room and it's his special stash !

The more chocolate the better for my teens! They get a selection box off grandma, a large tube of something from a neighbour and as a treat this year I have bought them a lindour large ball 😄

Places like wilko and b&m have packs of different American sweets and chocolates which might go down well with teens? They were under a fiver as well.

Or Japanese candy always seems to be a hit, especially if there are unusual things to try. Bit harder to get hold of though unless you have a Japanese supermarket nearby.

There are some light sabre boxed choices in Morrisons at the moment - if they are teen boys, Star Wars is almost as big as Xmas this year so you could combine both!!
