to think the name of Prince George's nursery shouldn't have been disclosed?

An article in the news today says that Prince George will be starting nursery in January and gives the name and location of the nursery.

Now I know everybody knew where Prince William and Harry went to school/uni but we are living in different times. This is a massive security risk isn't it? Surely the security at the nursery won't be as high as at their home on a private estate?

I'm really quite surprised that this information has been published.

I genuinely think there are a lot of people who would tremble with absolute delight at the prospect of their toddler sitting next to George during finger painting time.

wheelofapps · 18/12/2015 12:09

CastaDiva

a certain 'type' of people would climb all over each other in a big heap to have this sort of 'experience' I'll bet.

Not on MN though. Here it is civilised and decorous

(except for me being over involved in this and having waaaaaaaaaay too many smilies, but I have had a VERY bad morning and there is a lot of day to go, she says, slightly hysterically...)

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 18/12/2015 12:09

I reckon Gordonstoun has actually changed quite a lot since Prince Charles was there.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 18/12/2015 12:10

Thread has moved on a bit Grin

CastaDiva · 18/12/2015 12:12

Jessie, no, I meant I was assuming the nursery school PG was attending was not in London.

JessieMcJessie · 18/12/2015 12:16

Ah, OK castaDiva. Why would it make a difference whether London or not though?

SoWhite · 18/12/2015 12:19

I'm glad it has been announced.

It means the press won't be sneaking around the country's posh schools, trying to find Prince George, and putting the other kids in danger.

reni2 · 18/12/2015 12:19

MN thread next year: "The future King of England is scoffing popcorn and ice cream in my sitting room at the moment, should I make him eat his veg? I'm new to play dates and unsure about etiquette. Luckily his mum dropped and ran, so awkward having tea with a random fellow parent"

SevenOfNineTrue · 18/12/2015 12:21

They would have found it out anyway from following the cars or from one of the parents who were bound to blab.

alltouchedout · 18/12/2015 12:27

TBH it would have been ridiculously easy to work out which one he was at if they'd just kept it to 'a local nursery'.

BlueSmarties76 · 18/12/2015 12:33

I wonder what does happen at Royal Play dates!? Anyone got any insider info??

Charles went to Gordenstoun! Ah, that explains a few things! (I actually quite like him though!)

reni2 · 18/12/2015 12:36

I would just feel my kids are extras in this enormous charade called "Look-normal mc childhood! Play dates and brownies and badly played violins!" if they went to the same place.

YANBU. What the hell were they thinking? Its not like anyone needs to know that, or has any right to know.

The future King of England Can we give this a rest. It is insulting to the rest of us in the rest of the United KIngdom.

derxa · 18/12/2015 12:53

*too many 'rests'

CastaDiva · 18/12/2015 12:57

No difference, Jessie, but I thought they lived in Norfolk?

Yes, Ego, Kindergarten Cop comes to mind. Grin

Mind you, if you do royal or other VIP-type security, you need a high boredom threshold, because so much of it just involves waiting around.

SoWhite · 18/12/2015 12:58

It isn't insulting. It is true.

I think you mean 'pissing off republications at another reminder of the monarchy'. Not offensive or insulting in any way shape or form.

SoWhite · 18/12/2015 12:58

Well shit, I misread that entirely. Apologies, you make sense and I am thick.

squoosh · 18/12/2015 13:02

Didn't Charles' bodyguard at Oxford leave with a first? Certainly beats a crossword puzzle book!

PeasOnEarth · 18/12/2015 13:02

Very fair point derxa. James VI became James I a looong time ago, why is it still part of speech!!

reni2 · 18/12/2015 13:03

I think in 50 years' time it will be King of England. Possibly England and Wales.

Not sure why calling him "the Future king of England" is insulting to the rest of the UK (or Australia, Canada etc). It's just a factual statement of one of the titles he'll have (if the monarchy survives that long).

PS I am Scottish and always refer to "James the Sixth and First" so I do represent the potentially-offended. Derxa appears to be a stereotypical chippy nationalist.
