to think the name of Prince George's nursery shouldn't have been disclosed?

An article in the news today says that Prince George will be starting nursery in January and gives the name and location of the nursery.

Now I know everybody knew where Prince William and Harry went to school/uni but we are living in different times. This is a massive security risk isn't it? Surely the security at the nursery won't be as high as at their home on a private estate?

I'm really quite surprised that this information has been published.

AIBU to tell my DC if the future king hits them, they're to hit him back? Grin

MissFitt68 · 18/12/2015 11:24

Lol reni that's funny

We used to refer to them as 'hrh' it was our code. On one occasion Harry was upset as someone had thrown stones at the car as it arrived. This was in St. John's Wood and locals would have been aware young royals attended this establishment ( not just Harry and wills) on a weekly basis. It was a music group for kids

reni2 · 18/12/2015 11:27

The minefield of handing out roles at nativity Grin. And the PTA are sorted! One slice of that wedding cake at the bake sale will raise what they need for a decade.

RiverTam · 18/12/2015 11:30

I agree but this kind of thing gets out, precisely because of threads like this drawing attention to it. You're part of the problem, OP!

Enjolrass · 18/12/2015 11:31

I couldn't be less interested. But if they didn't name it, they would have been followed to find out. The information is now worthless and they will probably be allowed to go in peace. Except for the first day.

Security will already be in place.

Some people are interested. No idea why.

Dipankrispaneven · 18/12/2015 11:32

Oh, come off it. If they'd tried to keep it secret it would have come out on the first day of term anyway. So why bother?

scarlets · 18/12/2015 11:36

Social climbing mothers are probably frantically filling in the registration forms right now. Poor kid. How will he recognise who's a true potential friend?

I suppose that W and H learnt, and he will too.

squoosh · 18/12/2015 11:38

I don't think George needs to be worried about 2 year olds with an eye on improving their social status. Their parents perhaps but not the kids!

reni2 · 18/12/2015 11:39

A lot of parents might want to make alternative arrangements. I would. It would be cumbersome, getting your bags and background searched, being papped, having your kids watched by armed officers and all this is assuming there are no security breaches.

If there are, normal kids will just be collateral damage and won't be the first to be rescued when there is a baby who is blatantly more important and valuable than the others. I prefer to be an equal.

MissFitt68 · 18/12/2015 11:40

I suppose in this day with Isis an ever present threat I'd rather not have my DC in the same place!

BlueSmarties76 · 18/12/2015 11:43

Lols at flogging the Royal PE shorts on EBay. I imagine that would lead to a security services knock on the door!

NickNacks · 18/12/2015 11:43

George Cambridge surely?

CastaDiva · 18/12/2015 11:47

God, it would be awful to have a child there (I don't know where the nursery is, as I am the least royal-aware person in the country. Someone only pointed out to me quite recently that Swishy-Haired One and Balding Lost His Boyish Good Looks One had had another baby - assuming not London?), wouldn't it?

I'd be hopping mad they had opted for somewhere my offspring was happily settled. Surely the nursery would lose business from parents who wouldn't want the security hassles or press scrutiny? Or am I being hopeless republicanly naïve and in fact it will now be insanely oversubscribed, even if new children and their parents now have to jump through all kinds of security hoops before they enroll...?

reni2 · 18/12/2015 11:50

CastaDiva I imagine they would be immediately oversubscribed but at the same time have a near 100% change in kids. Most would leave to avoid the hassle and a totally new set would start. In 4 years' time on Charlotte's graduation normal service would resume.

squoosh · 18/12/2015 11:50

This definitely won't harm the nursery's business. Even 15 years from now a certain sort of person will be all 'Yes Tarquin goes to Bean Sprouts.......IT'S WHERE PRINCE GEORGE WENT YOU KNOW.'.

reni2 · 18/12/2015 11:55

Sounds better than ours, a not very well known premier league footballer is our junior school's claim to fame.

wheelofapps · 18/12/2015 11:56

LOVING the idea of:

""George Wales" lovingly sharpied on and later, as hand-me downs with "George Lottie Wales".

reni2 that is toooo funny!.x

Wasn't William supposed to have been known as 'biter-Wills- briefly? Grin

Hope he has a good enough time wherever he goes.
Just like we'd all wish for all our children.

AuntieStella · 18/12/2015 11:56

The nursery is (according to the Beeb) an OFSTED-rated 'good' Montessori nursery close to their Norfolk home.

I doubt there'll be a rush of pushy new applicants in a small, semi-rural area.

CallaLilli · 18/12/2015 11:57

God, some wannabe-Carole Middleton out there is probably already plotting to have little Mabel or Henrietta seek out George with the aim of becoming queen in about 50 years time!

wheelofapps · 18/12/2015 11:59

squoosh "Tarquin goes to Bean Sprouts..." Grin

Well, it didn't do the Swishy Haired one any harm being conveniently at the same educational establishment as the Now Balding One, did it Grin

Timri · 18/12/2015 12:03

Wherever William went, I wouldn't send my child there, have you heard him speak?
Common as muck, glottal stops everywhere!!!

CastaDiva · 18/12/2015 12:03

I don't know, even if you're the most repellent and obvious form of social climber, would you actually opt for the security hassles and press scrutiny? Really? What's realistically in it for other parents - the possibility of a party invitation, bragging rights, encountering a royal nanny and guys with under-arm holsters?

EvaBING · 18/12/2015 12:04

Oh good Lord. Imagine the nightmare opening words 'Mummy - George pulled my hair today and made me cry!'.

'It's ok darling. He's allowed.'

wheelofapps · 18/12/2015 12:05

X posts with CallaLilli

now, if I just move my wee darling down from Scotland and to the right part of London.

Argh, scratch that, she's 8 already.

Mind you, the Third Person in the Marriage one is older than the One Who Speaks to Plants...

JessieMcJessie · 18/12/2015 12:06

CastaDiva what do you mean "assuming not London", when you say

(...I am the least royal-aware person in the country. Someone only pointed out to me quite recently that Swishy-Haired One and Balding Lost His Boyish Good Looks One hadhad had another baby - assuming not London?)

Charlotte was born in St Marys Paddington same as George.
