YANBU

Boredofthinkingofnewnames · 17/12/2015 21:15

YANBU - it's five minutes on my machine - I timed it!

wineoclockthanks · 17/12/2015 21:16

YADNBU
Especially when the wash has inexplicably taken 10 minutes longer than ever before and you should have left the house 9 minutes ago

PseudoBadger · 17/12/2015 21:17

And wtf is it doing in that time? Summoning up the courage to unlock the door?

OP posts:
carbcraver · 17/12/2015 21:19

I thought it was just my machine that couldn't distinguish between a minute and what feels like an hour!!

SanityClause · 17/12/2015 21:19

It's forever, particularly if you have the buzzer on. Mine starts beeping before its finished spinning, and you can't open the door then until it's finished. It takes at least an hour, I'm sure of it.

pretend · 17/12/2015 21:20

YANBU

And once it has obviously finished the amount of time it takes for the door to be unlocked is inversely proportional to the amount of times you tug on it.

BifsWif · 17/12/2015 21:20

YANBU

Lying bastard machine.

ThursdayLastWeek · 17/12/2015 21:22

Mine doesn't actually have a timer, but the wait between it finishing and unlocking is interminable.

YANBU

90sforever · 17/12/2015 21:22

Yes so true

dontcallmelen · 17/12/2015 21:24

YANBU
last minute on my mine varies between 5/10 minutes depending on, how much it wants to piss me off.

Whataboutreindeer · 17/12/2015 21:26

Mine is very random, I've seen it drop several minutes and then that last minute has lasted an actual minute. I thought it was the end of days.

PseudoBadger · 17/12/2015 21:31

The tumble drier and dishwasher don't pull this shit

OP posts:
TSSDNCOP · 17/12/2015 21:40

It is the same with running machine time.

Except there every minute is really 5 minutes regular time.

pretend · 17/12/2015 21:48

They don't PB, however the dishwasher is a lazy fecker whose cycle seems to get shorter and shorter. Half the stuff comes out dirty.

At least the washing machine shows some commitment to the cleanliness of the clothes....

ThursdayLastWeek · 17/12/2015 21:52

My tumble dryer is the other way around.

I put it on for 2.20hrs, go back to it an hour and a half later and it's telling me its finished??? And the washing is never fucking dry Xmas Angry

Hassled · 17/12/2015 21:52

That last minute is a complete waste of time. Plus it's way longer than any other minute. I hate that last minute with a passion that's only shared with my hatred of getting lasagne sheets to fit in any container known to man.

Hassled · 17/12/2015 21:54

And while I'm ranting - one of my washing cycles (the anti allergen one with steam and shit) can take over 3 hours with a full load of sheets. Nothing in the world needs to be washed for 3 hours. Even if I indulged in a spot of light mass murder, I bet I still wouldn't need 3 hours to remove the evidence.

LavenderRain · 17/12/2015 21:56

My washing machine goes back in time Confused

It tells me it has 3 minutes left, I go upstairs, come down and it has 5 minutes left, I mean wtf is it a tardis in disguise or something?!

Oh and it also eats socks, bastard machine Hmm

VegetablEsoup · 17/12/2015 21:58

yanbu
and then it has the cheek to lock the door for a further 2 min that feels like 2 hours.

ThursdayLastWeek · 17/12/2015 21:58

Yy Hassled my 'white cotton' cycle has to be put on at 6am if I want to have it dried before dinner time.

pretend · 17/12/2015 21:58

Too true Hassled Smile

My general cottons wash is 2.5 hours Shock. So I use the quick wash at half an hour.

However I have a house full of teenagers and the general cottons wash is the default setting. I've lost count of the times I've gone to put a wash on to find a lonely pair of jeans just getting soaped up with 2 hours 15 minutes to go.... Angry

possiblefutures · 17/12/2015 21:59

Why is it though???

cherrytree63 · 17/12/2015 22:00

My DP had a part of his brain replaced with a washing machine timer Grin. "leaving the pub in a minute dear...."

munkisocks · 17/12/2015 22:00

Must be like a pc download where it drops from 45 minutes to 5 minutes in 2 minutes then starts to go up again. Finally the last minute lasts 10 minutes.
