to it's defence is does get my clothes clean.

IguanaTail · 17/12/2015 22:02

Weird. Mine takes about 10 seconds.

Elledouble · 17/12/2015 22:02

I can just about understand why it takes a little while for the door to unlock after a wash (to make sure it's properly drained I guess?) but why the fuck does it take so long on a drying cycle (we have a washer dryer)? IT'S ALL MEANT TO BE DRY, DAMMIT.

DrDreReturns · 17/12/2015 22:02

YANBU
The other day my machine had 15 mins left. Suddenly it stopped for a few mins and went back to 30 mins. Annoying.
I think sometimes if you wash big items it has trouble 'balancing' them for the final spin (like a centrifuge), which can increase the time.
(I don't spend my life watching the washing machine btw)

VegetablEsoup · 17/12/2015 22:05

mine has a sensor that measures how dirty the water is. so it adds another rinse =+15 min...

knobblyknee · 17/12/2015 22:05

YANBU. Why wont the bloody door open? What does it think is going to happen?

ThroughThinkandThing · 17/12/2015 22:10

Ours sit on one minute for twelve... And then takes about five minutes to unlock the door when it gets to "End". Damn you, machine.

YANU - on my washing machine 00:01 to 00:00 is quick compared to 00:02 to 00:01, which seems to take forever....

why the fuck does it take so long on a drying cycle

It's because it's hot!

My washing machine opens straight away when a wash is finished because as soon as it stops spinning the water's gone...the dryer takes 5 minutes though so you don't scald yourself!

StillYummy · 17/12/2015 23:10

This totally boils my piss too

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 17/12/2015 23:10

my washer needs investigated by NASA as it runs on a completely alternative Space Time Continuum to the rest of the world

a 55 minute wash is the usual one I do and it's never done in 55 minutes, I once went out there and it said 9 minutes to go, so I went and zapped a cup of coffee for 2 minutes, put it on the table and then realised I could not hear it on it's last spin so I went out

0:00 it said AND the door was unlocked.

Mostly though it takes for fucking ever. and 55 minutes is at least 65.

Liar of a machine.

MummySparkle · 17/12/2015 23:11

YANBU! I hate this!!

Mine has a child lock on it which I have to turn on because of the toddlers lost track of the amount of times clean & dry clothes have been rehashed... The time it takes for the door to unlock after the child lock is turned off is f o r e v e r Xmas Angry
