Just screen shot it now. I was pretty shocked to see it. Can they legally say that while mentioning mn?

I saw that and wondered the same - it's all through out the article, not just in the headline. I was pretty shocked even by dailymail standards

This is the weirdest thing I've seen on mumsnet ever. Not going to the Fail site to find out what tenuous links they've made though. What a load of bollocks the Fail is spouting now.

It's not connecting it. It's saying that there is an online chat area which could be as popular as mumsnet, which is being used by jihadis. It's quicker and more sensationalist to say "mumsnet for jihadis" than "really quite a popular online chat forum for jihadis".

It's like saying "Butlins for jihadis" upon uncovering a uk holiday resort.

Mumsnet = one of the most well known parenting forums. I doubt most people could name another. Understandable why they used it in the headline. Can't say I like it but it's not illegal.

But didn't they just reference mumsnet as short-hand for 'an online forum largely directed a women'...? I'm pretty sure that they were not suggesting that mumsnet is itself connected to jihadis even though both words were used in the same sentence.

But enough that if it was my business being used in the same sentence i'd be less than impressed. If it was a random line used in a little-read readers digest or something then it wouldn't really matter. But the DM has a huge audience and it's a big, blatant headline. Which plenty of people don't read past.

I think most MN'rs secretly love the Daily Mail.
