Lets face it,
this idiot is so egotistical, so mega-rich and so up his own arse, that he probably couldn't care less what we think about him.
This is why I think talks of banning him is bordering on being ridiculous.
Banning him wouldn't impact on his life one iota.

Anyway, a normal person would feel ashamed to be banned from a country.
He's not normal.
He would probably see it as a badge of honor. Hmm

professor absolutely, especially entering other countries in the pretence of "world peace" which actually means give America all the oil. That would help a lot.

I also know what would make Americans a hell of a lot safer Mr Trump, removing the right to bare Arms, then high school kids to go to school without the fear of not making it home that night, people could go to cinemas without wondering if there's a gun man in the next screen.

Oh but no that's right Trump says that the Parisians could have prevented the attacks by carrying guns because they could have shot the suicide bombers. Probably setting the vests off in the process.

Tholeonagain · 10/12/2015 07:35

What can we do? The mothers of the world need to save us all from Donald Trump....

NaiceVillageOfTheDammed · 10/12/2015 07:40

"Yep, he'd miss walking around his little fiefdom as the Scottish wind gently teases his hair..." LonnyVonny

Tholeonagain · 10/12/2015 07:44

The only upside is that he is nearly 70 and doesn't look very fit. He may not go on forever..

claig · 10/12/2015 09:17

'claig surely BorisJohnson's Jon is to represent London'

London is a big enough place not to need a politician to defend it. Nobody took Trump seriously so there was no need for grandstanding by London politicians.

'What did boris say?'

He said

''The only reason I wouldn't visit some parts of New York is the real risk of meeting Donald Trump''

There is no need for grandstanding. He should just say Trump is wrong and I disagree with him. Trump will possibly become President and a London Mayor may have to meet him. Things should be kept diplomatic.

SirChenjin · 10/12/2015 09:32

Well done Robert Gordon's University and to Ms Sturgeon for finally doing something about him (although let's not forget that Mr Salmond and the rest of the party was all to quick to take his money, ignore the environmental impact of his new golf resort and fawn over him when he brought his money over here)

I signed the petition - he won't care and it does wonders for that bolshy mentality that exists in certain sectors of the American society who believe that no-one can tell them what to do, let alone a little place like the UK (that few could actually put on the map or tell you what countries it consists of).

Katarzyna79 · 10/12/2015 09:38

I agree with polentapies views. But even though ive never liked trump his statement about no go areas in london isnt completely false is it?. I remember reading about stupid muslim youth acting like the religious police telling young white girls they were dressed inappropriately. Posters on lamposts saying this is a muslim policed area east london i think? I gurantee these lads dont study their religion why would they think they can police others. I bet their own womenfolk arent even in hijab yet theyre telling non muslims or even muslim girls how to dress. Truth is they shouldnt be talking to unrelated women only out of a need they obviously have crap all to do withtheir lives. Ppl with these attitudes need to find a muslim country that suits them and get the hell out.theyll soon realise the grass isnt greener.

Im muslim btw

SirChenjin · 10/12/2015 09:45

I think there is a vast difference between what idiots like that would like others to think about an area, and what the police actually think about the same area. There are no 'no go' areas for the police in this country - just a lot of posturing and hot air from some of the residents.

Katarzyna79 · 10/12/2015 09:53

He looks and sounds senile the left wing make worse comments i dont think it matters let him enter let ppl see what a quack he is

SirChenjin · 10/12/2015 09:57

The left wing of American politics makes worse comments? Confused What have they said that's worse than this?

Re the No-go areas, this guys has it

Woolwich and a bottle of wine

claig · 10/12/2015 10:52

What Boris said seems to be worse

"London Mayor Boris Johnson said yesterday Mr Trump was unfit for office and has openly mocked the American, adding: 'The only reason I wouldn't go to some parts of New York is the real risk of meeting Donald Trump.'

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3353967/Donald-Trump-says-British-critics-pandering-political-correctness-400-000-call-banned-UK-Muslim-hate-speech.html

Who is Boris to tell Americans who is fit for office or not?

Dipankrispaneven · 10/12/2015 10:59

But he self-evidently is unfit for office. Boris is perfectly entitled to pronounce on the bleeding obvious.

polentapies · 10/12/2015 11:10

Far be it for me to defend Boris, but this time I'm with him and it prob did him some good too. I guess Trump is not the only one who likes ruffling a few feathers

lalalonglegs · 10/12/2015 11:15

I'm not a huge fan of Boris but enjoyed that quote. He was, until very recently, a US citizen as well as being a political commentator and columnist so he has every right to say whether someone is fit to run for office.

claig · 10/12/2015 11:34

Our political class should not meddle in the affairs of other countries. They feel entitled to do it with third world countries, but they should not meddle with te United States at all. Boris can go on about Blair or any other Labour MP not being fit for office, but he should stay out of an American Presidential election. It is just basic etiquette and diplomacy, things which Boris lacks.

Vagndidit · 10/12/2015 11:39

Oh, I'm a Yank currently resident in the UK and happily signed the petition. I don't think it'll serve its original purpose but it might actually make some of Trump's mindless supporters in the US sit up and take notice that the rest of the world thinks he's a right wanker.

Americans in general have a hard time believing the rest of the world could possibly think ill of them and their politics. A petition from a country like the UK might just drive the point home.

claig · 10/12/2015 11:41

' A petition from a country like the UK might just drive the point home.'

Wouldn't it just wind up Trump supporters even more to think that the haughty red coats were trying to tell them how to run their country. The conservative talk show hosts won't take kindly to being lectured by phony conservatives from Britain.

SirChenjin · 10/12/2015 11:41

Boris isn't meddling - he's giving his views on the man. America doesn't operate in a vacuum, and everyone is entitled to respond to someone who chucks ridiculous comments on their country into the ring.

claig · 10/12/2015 11:44

'everyone is entitled to respond'

Every ordinary nobody and citizen, but not our elected representatives who stand for all of us and all of our interests and whose posturings could harm our country's interests.

claig · 10/12/2015 11:46

What would the Scots say if an Etonian told them who is fit to run for office in Scotland?

This clowning and schoolboy playground posturing has no place in politics.

SirChenjin · 10/12/2015 11:52

'The Scots' - all 6 million of us - would probably have lots of different/no thoughts on the matter Hmm

No-one is posturing - apart from Donald.

polentapies · 10/12/2015 12:00

I think the US politicians are historically rather fond of trying to have a say in other countries' politics and leaders.

In any case, Boris, as London Mayor did have a right to respond to a 'fact' about his patch from a foreign politician

claig · 10/12/2015 12:02

'In any case, Boris, as London Mayor did have a right to respond to a 'fact' about his patch from a foreign politician'

Absolutely, but he should have just said that Trump was wrong and had his facts wrong and leave it at that. There was no need to get personal and try to create publicity for himself.
