It's dry?

iklboo · 08/12/2015 17:11

Which one? We've got four of the buggers. Two I wouldn't mind (card / paper bad glass / plastic) but I'd object to general waste & food waste!

StealthPolarBear · 08/12/2015 17:14

General waste. Thank goodness the dc aren't in nappies

We've had deliveries that were left in the bin and ended up in the bin lorry on collection day! Madness!

HeadDreamer · 08/12/2015 17:16

I don't know why. But our royal mail guy did that a couple of times too.

StealthPolarBear · 08/12/2015 17:17

Urgh. I hate bins. It's only one third full too so I had to reach right in.
actually I'm glad we don't have a dog

I got one left in my neighbour's bin Hmm

howtorebuild · 08/12/2015 17:20

If there is a notes option, ask they not put packages in the bin.

Djelibeyb · 08/12/2015 17:21

I've had this. Also one last week left in front of the door... Of my neighbours

Djelibeyb · 08/12/2015 17:22

I complain each time. Amazon don't do it now but the Hermes guy is a law unto himself

LivingInMidnight · 08/12/2015 17:30

Mine was Hermes. I was in, but my neighbour wasn't. Not flats or anything, just went to a totally wrong house & them dumped it!

LivingInMidnight · 08/12/2015 17:31

*then

StealthPolarBear · 08/12/2015 17:33

If it had been food I don't think I could have eaten it.
I'm sure I overreacting. But I hate bins

Royal Mail did this to me last week.
I was away. The parcels went in the bin Lorry.

The postman has had a bollocking and I'm waiting for Royal Mail to refund me £50 odd.

They are useless. Totally not interested. Except the nice card the postman left me to say the parcels were in the bin. So I have the proof. Idiot.

Topseyt · 08/12/2015 17:43

I have had this happen a couple of times.

The last time they left no card so I didn't know anything had arrived. It was in the recycling bin (cardboard and stuff). We only found it because DH had gone out to put some stuff in the recycling and just happened to glance down before he did so. Just as well.

Bins have to be just about the most twatty places to deliver a potentially valuable parcel to. It could be collection day!!

RB68 · 08/12/2015 17:43

Labels on the bin "No Parcels"

Rightyhothen · 08/12/2015 17:46

At least you've got your parcel OP Xmas Envy

Mine has been 'out for delivery' for two days now.

I've had a parcel left in the recycling bin before. On recycling bin day.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 08/12/2015 17:58

Happens to us all the time. We've also had them left in the food waste bin on several occasions. I think by far the most ridiculous was a large box (an Xbox One) being placed under our doormat. Hmm

wonkylegs · 08/12/2015 18:13

We have a spare space in our bin store so they get left there which is fine because it's dry and out of sight. However thanks Hermes man who this week, upon finding is not in decided to make the parcel fit through the letter box by squishing it flat and forcing it through - we got it but it wasn't so good for the lightbulbs in the box which they are now resending via a different courier.

queenoftheworld93 · 08/12/2015 18:15

We had ours left in the wheelie bin today and DP complained. Got whole order sent out again.

pineapplecrush · 08/12/2015 19:13

Why would you leave a parcel anywhere without a note through the door? I am still trying to sort out (5 calls and getting nowhere) where £80 worth of goods House of Fraser claim were delivered 10 days ago. A Customer Service worker said "they leave parcels outside a property if they know the area". We've just had torrential rain for days! This was Royal Mail. I don't know why companies go along with their couriers doing this.

StealthPolarBear · 08/12/2015 19:18

Paul you've either posted about that before or its happened to someone else as well :o. X boxes are nice and flat aren't they, perfectly camouflages by a doormat?
Feeling everyone's woes :)

I like it when they deliver parcels to my bin! Grin I even requested it for Amazon deliveries. I hate having to pick my stuff up from random neighbours. I am an anti-social lump at times tho!

StealthPolarBear · 08/12/2015 19:22

But bins are dirty Stinky things potentially full of baby and or dog pol. Not to mention fish bones and gravy. And we're all encouraged to use fewer bags

OP posts:
poorbuthappy · 08/12/2015 19:26

Perhaps we need special clean bins for the parcels
