I work 12 hour shifts and always on my feet. I can't seem to find any shoes that don't make my feet throb by the end of my shift. I fantasise every shift about a magic shoe that won't hurt my feet.... All shift workers know this feeling someone must know the secret..
Recommendations please!!

Another vote for Clarks unstructured range- I've been wearing Un Lady II for the last 5 years because nothing else is quite as good. They sell them in their outlet stores, £38 now.
I do long days on my feet and wear them with sports orthotic insoles, never get sore or tired feet.

Outfoxed · 07/12/2015 10:37

I do ten hours on my feet every day and I wear some brogues from clarks, they feel great except I get through a pair every 6-9 months as I walk so much in them the soles wear through

thelouise · 07/12/2015 10:44

I have lots of joint damage in my feet and I swear by Kickers.

PiperIsTerrysChoclateOrange · 07/12/2015 10:44

I wear black trainers.

Boomingmarvellous · 07/12/2015 10:45

Black trainers were the only things that worked for me. But you do get used to it eventually.

Boomingmarvellous · 07/12/2015 10:45

I worked in A&E. Literally hardly any sitting down

SecretSpy · 07/12/2015 10:50

Un loop from Clarks. Best work shoes I've ever had. Quite ugly but worth it.

TitsCrossed · 07/12/2015 10:55

Fit flops for me. I have to wear a more formal shoe so trainer styles are out, fit flop ballerinas are super comfy for my wide feet and look smart.

MumofAAndE · 07/12/2015 11:04

RMN. Nike air max. Chavtastic but very comfy. Can get hot though.

MammaTJ · 07/12/2015 11:11

Dr Keller! Cheap and padded and comfy!

Sherlockmaystealyourpug · 07/12/2015 13:17

Clarks, the ones with pillow insole thingys.

VenusRising · 07/12/2015 13:29

These are comfy shoes from the unstructured range from clarks.
This model is called loop and comes in different leather textures and colours.

Sketchers Go Walk. Cured my plantar fasciitis completely. Wore them on a trip to London at Easter when my pedometer showed me having walked 26,000 steps in a day.

WhereYouLeftIt · 07/12/2015 14:06

Ecco lace-ups. Fugly as sin, but excellent arch support. They also do a version with two velcro straps rather than laces, many others I worked with wore those too.

Skechers train ups with a curved sole. I also have pf and nhs insoles.

hahawoteva · 07/12/2015 14:33

I have fallen arches and I wear the fit flop branded shoes. I don't need an orthotic with these (the podiatrist says they give good support ). They are expensive but my feet loves them.

LaurieLemons · 07/12/2015 14:38

I used to wear trainers when I did 12 hour shifts, a lot of colleagues wore Skechers or Nike. Any shoes that are 'memory foam' should be comfy. Insoles also help, the gel ones preferably!

Idefix · 07/12/2015 14:40

I wear Clarks unstructured (orange and black logo on sole). They are very comfortable and supportive. Also recommend a full shoe as opposed to the styles that looke like a ballerina pump with a strap.

backtowork2015 · 07/12/2015 14:46

DM boots. Seriously comfy and last forever

ComposHatComesBack · 07/12/2015 14:57

I've gone off DMs in a big way. They don't seem to be as sturdy as they once were since they switched production away from the UK. My most recent pair are cracking across the toecap after two years of winter-only wear. I have a UK made pair from the mid 90s which have taken loads more abuse and are still intact.

Libitina · 07/12/2015 15:05

When I was on the wards as a student I wore Skechers that could pass for lace up shoes. As a theatre nurse I now wear Croc type shoes. I see a lot of nurses wearing Clarks 'unloop'. I think they still do them. Ugly as sin, but supportive and comfortable.

hollieberrie · 07/12/2015 15:10

Skechers Go Walk 2 - so comfy and theyre not that hideous - with trainer socks they could almost pass as cool Wink. I have them in 2 different colours.
I'm an early years teacher so on my feet all day.

villainousbroodmare · 07/12/2015 15:16

Skechers Go Walk

happytocomply · 07/12/2015 15:34

Crocs. So ugly but so comfy and easy to clean/slip your feet out of and wiggle your toes occasionally. The 'professional' type without the holes and a bit more heel support.

Sallystyle · 07/12/2015 15:45

Most nurses on my ward wear Crocs, the ones with holes in the toe bit.

Not technically allowed as they are open across the foot, but they are so popular.
