Oh how I miss it when we all had fun, no one was serious, no one was stupid, no one ever did anything I didn't want them to do!! Oh wasn't it wonderful!

Ah, I have just had an epiphany - MN stays the same and it's just us that change! Shock obvs I am currently having a mid-MN crisis that makes me think ffs stop asking us to think about the men/the flowers/the OW

Lightupthefire · 05/12/2015 18:13

No!! It cannot be so!!

OI.... You calling me stupid??

reni2 · 05/12/2015 18:21

I think I had the midlife crisis of my MN career a month in.

Sparklingbrook · 05/12/2015 18:22

Seemed nice when I joined in 2011. If MN hasn't changed then yes, it must be me that has. Well I never.

I have been ground down and brainwashed in 4 years to the point my personality has changed. Shock

The replies would have been different if you'd been a man

APlaceOnTheCouch · 05/12/2015 18:25

Maryz have some extra Wine for me as I'm too ill to drink (never thought I'd type those words)

reni2 · 05/12/2015 18:26

Alternatively MN could have gone downhill right from the off, so whilst it might have been better last year, it was even better in 2008, more golden still in 2002 and paradise in the halcyon days of 2000.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 05/12/2015 18:32

reni if that's the case I am Shock Confused Envy at what it will be like in 2018.

Lightupthefire · 05/12/2015 18:32

BASH ALL THE REGULARS
REMOVE ALL THE REGULARS

It's part of the cycle, we are approaching Christmas which is when traditionally we implode.

I was doing some vital research on here last week trying to locate the original use of the term Goady Fucker and when I was searching threads most of them were about Mumsnet of Days Gone By. We've been talking about this shit for YEARS as the above threads show...and yet we're still here. Maybe it's us oldies that make it shit Grin we are the consistent factor!

Sparklingbrook · 05/12/2015 18:36

I am excited at the prospect of the Christmas moany threads. Unwanted gifts/houseguests. Lovely. V reassuring.

If there's one like the Baileys Iceland Dessert thread this year I will be happy.

Remove posting rights of anyone registered less than, say, 2 or 5 years ago for 24h and look at MN going all lovely and witty and fun. If it doesn't, remove posting rights from all who have posted more than 1000 posts. Should be easy to pinpoint who's to blame.

I reckon it would be exactly the same and we'd find goady fuckers and lovelies as well as dimwits and witty yet supportive posters are equally common in all groups.

Gin? I'm here

InTheBox · 05/12/2015 18:42

Yabu! It has grown since your so called hey-day

PacificDogwod · 05/12/2015 18:48

I had my wrist slapped a couple of Christmasses ago for having started a game of MN Bingo that went a bit Pete Tong. Predictably.

Ah, fond memories

What's the Bailey's Icland Dessert, hm?? Pray, tell.

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 05/12/2015 18:53

Nah, it's the opposite to a regular bashing thread when it's a "it were all fields" thread innit?

Usually a cue for all the mouldies and twitterati to come "hellair hellair did someone call?" lot to come barging back for one night only.

(I do automatically swerve the "lighthearted" threads because I object to the interweb telling me I've got to find something funny)

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 05/12/2015 19:06

Only thing wrong now is too many people.

OP says WWYD or AIBU and if I see that 25 or 30 ish people have said what I would have done I think, well that's enough to give her the idea. So I don't add my tuppenceworth.

But 500 other people do!

I blame p e n i s b e a k e r.

PacificDogwod · 05/12/2015 19:13

Oh, thanks, Sparkling, reassuringly I am planning a vair posh dessert indeed. No Iceland will be harmed in the making of my mousses.

Bewitched, yes, I back off the really busy and obvious threads as well. OP, you've been told 200 YABU (or not, whatever), so you don't need me to tell you too.
The receptacle you mention has a lot to answer for Angry

IrisVillarca · 05/12/2015 19:13

Weird chemical taste to those Baileys dessert things.

Sparklingbrook · 05/12/2015 19:19

I was asked if I wanted a Baileys once. I said yes and got a pint of it with a straw. Shock
