And there aren't a lot over £15 either!

I've been on all the usual websites. Amazon, Firebox, Iwoot, etc etc and they're all selling the same unimaginative plastic (et al) tat.

It's just total tat!

FFS

Or am I being unreasonable (hopefully!) and you can point me in the direction of some decent, reasonably priced, Christmas gifts under £15 (ish).

(Specifically, things that are fun on the day to play with, but aren't just total pap)

TY

Are you talking about for adults or children? If children, what age?

SellFridges · 04/12/2015 11:31

Yes, what ages?

RalphSteadmansEye · 04/12/2015 11:31

ghostyslovesheep · 04/12/2015 11:31

April2013 · 04/12/2015 11:34

Just trawl eBay and charity shops, plenty of great things for well under £15 :)

AGrinWithoutACat · 04/12/2015 11:35

Loads of fun family games about, nice bottles of (hic) alcohol for adults, craft kits, small but solid toys for younger kids, our average budget is £15 - £20 per person for a range of ppl and we usually buy more than one item for each person none of which is plastic tat ....

AuntieStella · 04/12/2015 11:37

There are adult colouring in books themed for Doctor Who and Marvel Comics (around a tenner, I think) which I'm planning to give to teens.

Also the sarcastic Ladybird books (try The Hipster for teens, The Shed for adults and Dating for anyone who's single and looking).

Poker Set
Scratch Map of the World
Board games

A book called "Tequila Mockingbird" - cocktail recipes with a literary twist.

Ahardmanisgoodtofind · 04/12/2015 11:38

*in their
Last year everyone got Russian roulette food games, im a celebrity one with real bugs was a huge hit with bils after a few drinks on boxing day-was hilarious watching five grown men trying not to freak out at the possibility of eating bugs. We're an odd sort of family though

Icklepickle101 · 04/12/2015 11:40

I've made a hamper for a few hard to buy for people for about £15

Some fluffy socks, hand cream, gloves, scarf, milk tray and a bottle of Buck's Fizz. Lots of little presents which will all be 'used'

Roobix04 · 04/12/2015 11:41

Try notonthehighstreet

harryhausen · 04/12/2015 11:44

Try OhDeer.com

weeblueberry · 04/12/2015 11:46

Surely it depends on the personality/likes of the person?

It's a sure fire way to get a shit present to just trawl 'gift' sites and pick something in your budget.

BikeRunSki · 04/12/2015 11:49

Dot Com Gift Shop, free delivery over £10 too.

Fox28 · 04/12/2015 11:50

paintandbrush · 04/12/2015 12:01

Thanks for some excellent suggestions!!

This list is precisely the kind of crap I'm referring to (sorry mrsjanedoe):

No fun on the day. Will be in the bin by new years eve I suspect. Overpriced crap.

Totally agree with you. This is why we have jacked in family presents for a secret santa - £80 limit (which is still less than we would have spent) and you get a decent present.

yorkshapudding · 04/12/2015 12:24

Boots have some good stuff on 3 for 2. You have to sift through the tat, obviously, but there is some good stuff in there. I found a nice No.7 eye make up set for my Mum, Starbucks hot chocolate kit for SIL, several different soap and glory make up, smellies or fragrance gift sets for the teen girls in the family and a Fat Face aftershave and socks gift set for a teenage nephew. Pretty sure they were all under £15.

For teenage girls, Asos have some really pretty necklaces for around the £10 mark.
