I heard a choir sing it. Its pretty popular and been in xmas adverts a few years back. It has words but I cant remember them. I think the notes are e... d e c..., e..... d e b....
Can anyone guess what it is?

Silent Night, Holy night, all is calm, all is bright.......?

FreiasBathtub · 01/12/2015 10:42

I think it's Carol of the Bells as well. Is it in 3/4 time, OP?

Hygge · 01/12/2015 10:43

Too late! It's lovely, in lots of stuff too.

Infinitynose · 01/12/2015 10:46

Freias, you too! I'm so impressed you guessed!

Shakey15000 · 01/12/2015 10:47

I got it from your thread title and funnily enough, it's one I asked here about two years ago Grin

BertrandRussell · 01/12/2015 10:49

Damn- I just went to play those notes and came back to tell you what it was and I was beaten to it! NOT FAIR!

Hygge · 01/12/2015 10:50

Glad I could help, it's lovely isn't it? Xmas Smile

Infinitynose · 01/12/2015 11:03

It is lovely! I'm so pleased that so many managed to guess!

OP posts:
ThruUlikeAshortcut · 01/12/2015 11:05

Well done - I would never have guessed that one didn't realise it was a carol Blush

LaContessaDiPlump · 01/12/2015 11:09

Yay, my first deliberately chosen Christmas song for the year Grin

Infinitynose · 01/12/2015 11:10

I don't know if it is a 'carol'. I know its not a pop song!

FlysInDreams · 01/12/2015 11:15

I love this one:

Infinitynose · 01/12/2015 11:19

I love that one too but didn't know the name. Can anyone recommend a good xmas CD for this year?

OP posts:
Raahh · 01/12/2015 11:20

I always remember it from the Home alone soundtrack. I think as a Christmas song, it is more popular in the US than here.

DinoSnores · 01/12/2015 11:26

I got it from the thread title too! Grin

DinoSnores · 01/12/2015 11:30

Although I have to say, how on earth did you know this?!

"I think the notes are e... d e c..., e..... d e b...."

Do people just know these things?

Infinitynose · 01/12/2015 11:35

I took a few piano lessons as a kid! I was impressed with freias is it in 3/4 time?

Went right over my head!

OP posts:
Hovis2001 · 01/12/2015 11:42

I took a few piano lessons as a kid!

I have played various instruments for years and could not in a million years guess the actual notes of a piece of music if I didn't have it in front of you. Perfect pitch, OP?! Not envious.

Infinitynose · 01/12/2015 12:10

Oh this has warmed my cockles! I often hum to my friends to see if they can help me find the name of a song. I'm a notoriously bad hummer!

The choir singing above are Libera they have a Christmas CD... (Not as good as some of their non-Christmas stuff in my opinion but not bad)

LittleMissGreen · 01/12/2015 12:36
