I dont get why everyone always says she can't sing and isnt talented.

Video below of her performing an amazing dance routine and singing live.

She's undeniably very talented!

This thread. Shock

I had a generally low opinion of her before I wandered onto this thread, not dissimilar to any other tabloid 'sweetheart', but then I discovered that she beat up a bathroom attendant and called her that name?

Dear me. Mrs. VD is rough as hell.

maybebabybee · 30/11/2015 12:15

OP has now started another thread.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/2519136-Shocked-at-the-nasty-bitchness-towards-CFV?

SarahSavesTheDay · 30/11/2015 12:16

I just want to know who you are OP. Her Mum or her friend or indeed our Chezza herself.

Please, identify yourself. We all want to know.

treaclesoda · 30/11/2015 12:17

CFV sounds familiar. Is that shorthand for some sort of medical test or something?

As for Cheryl whatsername, well, lovely hair, very pretty, but not terribly talented and has a history of violence. Not someone I'd say I feel particularly warmly towards.

NotNowBono · 30/11/2015 12:23

I thought Katherine Jenkins was the Nation's Sweetheart. Or Dame Vera Lynn. Or possibly Olivia Coleman.

Fight, fight, fight, etc! Oh.

Owllady · 30/11/2015 12:28

I always thought wee Jimmy krankie was the nation's sweetheart :(

Chippednailvarnish · 30/11/2015 12:28

Yep Dame Vera vs VD.

Infact DV vs VD, on any other forum it would be inappropriate!

DickDewy · 30/11/2015 12:44

She will forever be Cheryl VD now on Mumsnet Grin

Behooven · 30/11/2015 12:58

Can we get back to the matter in hand please

clearly the nation's sweetheart is Madam Cholet! She never had Bulgaria either Wink

Cheryl VD is actually very talented
MoriartyIsMyAngel · 30/11/2015 13:00

Op - YOU are the one who started a thread calling her 'Cheryl Venereal Disease'. Rather odd to then set yourself up as her champion. Maybe ask the mods to change your title, so people know it's not a pisstake thread?

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 30/11/2015 13:03

Just listened to that MIA video. She doesn't exactly sing in tune either massive understatement although it's not quite as bad as the jubilee cliip earlier in the thread, which was truly painful.

I did wonder who the fuck Cheryl VD was, but have now seen that the OP has typing ishoos and meant Cheryl FV - should have just said Cheryl Cole and then we'd have known who you meant.

She's really not that good. Although I did quite like her in St. Trinians...

ComposHatComesBack · 30/11/2015 13:03

No Coleman's a national treasure. Lynn was the forces sweetheart. Jenkins fancies herself as the new Forces sweetheart. Gets bloody confusing with all these different types of sweethearts knocking around.

MoriartyIsMyAngel · 30/11/2015 13:03

The time I most felt entertained by Cheryl was the time she made it 2/3 of the way through a song on live TV before realizing her recorded vocals weren't playing. She was squeaking like a mouse down the mic for two minutes, like someone singing along in their head without realizing the occasional noise was out loud. I don't know if it's been linked already.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 30/11/2015 13:05

Ha, I read your post there Compo without getting the reference to Olivia Coleman upthread, and thought there for a minute that you meant David Coleman, of Colemanballs fame. Definitely a national treasure, he was - a treasury of commentating balls-ups! Grin

The thread in Feminism has been deleted but annoyed me so I have to answer on here instead :)

OP why should I admire her, what great contribution has she made to the world?

I have to say that I don't watch all this talent show bollocks, I've never heard her sing or talk, never seen her dance. She's familiar to me as there was some sort of news recently where she was photographed by cocaine & she paid her lawyers to hush it up. Other than that she was married to a footballer? She's really not on my radar & I have no idea who girls aloud are.

So why is she worthy of admiration, how has she advanced mankind or changed someone's life? What good has she done? What difference has she made? Just because she's a woman is not enough to put her on a pedestal, I'd like to know how she's improved the world & as the thread was in Feminism, what contribution has she made or how has she advanced the rights of women?

Sparklingbrook · 30/11/2015 13:07

I love the way this thread was dragged over to the Feminism topic for back up. Grin

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 30/11/2015 13:08

Do you think she realised at all? Or do you think the sound tech suddenly found the pre-recorded voice track and cranked it up on the mixer board?

jamesdeandaydream · 30/11/2015 13:11

So many haters. Why? Confused

I genuinely don't understand why people bitch about someone who they don't even know. Just because she's a celebrity it doesn't give people the right to rip her to shreds.

SoupDragon · 30/11/2015 13:12

I don't hate her.

I just think she can't sing.

Owllady · 30/11/2015 13:13

Omg at that Alan Carr link!

OneMoreCasualty · 30/11/2015 13:14

I was about to post this on the TAAT when it was deleted so here goes:

I am confused by all the initials.

I will note that when JFC (Jeremy Fucking Clarkson) punched a more junior person and insulted him on the basis of his nationality, there was an outpouring of outrage at the Beeb's very reasonable decision to sack him.

Note this doesn't make Cheryl Tweedy a saint, a non racist or a good singer. It is an interesting parallel though.

Roussette · 30/11/2015 13:15

Moriarty that youtube link is bloody hilarious. Whoever says she can sing needs to go to the doctors and get their ears syringed!

She is a girl who had a lucky break in life, reinvented herself, married a footballer yada yada. End of.

ComposHatComesBack · 30/11/2015 13:22

He hated the Colemanballs by all accounts and was extremely prickly about his gaffes.

Tangfastics · 30/11/2015 13:27

OMG I can't breathe!!!!

That link that Moriarty posted is hilarious!

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 30/11/2015 13:33

Oh I'm sure he did, Compos - they did make him look a bit of a tit at times, who wouldn't be a bit prickly about that!
