I dont get why everyone always says she can't sing and isnt talented.

Video below of her performing an amazing dance routine and singing live.

She's undeniably very talented!

It really is. Grin But the Wombles will always be the best.

CelestiaLuna · 01/12/2015 10:17

Jessica Simpson is most know in the UK from her reality show 'newly weds' on in early 2000's

Totalrecall Mulleen was a clumsy code for an alleged ED that Cheryl may have. It sort of rhymes but add an 'ia'

clockbuscanada · 01/12/2015 10:21

Jessica Simpson played Daisy Duke in the utterly dire remake of Dukes of Hazzard. Good grief, I think I know my specialist subject on Mastermind now, contents of the National Enquirer, 1999-2015.

BitOutOfPractice · 01/12/2015 10:25

I think it's quite cruel to keep bringing it up actually

Hold on, I'm sure I have a very tiny violin I could play!

I think she's tried very very hard to airbrush the incident out of her past. No doubt spent thousands on PR.

Sadly for her, many people refuse to forget it

Arf!

NotNowBono · 01/12/2015 10:59

pauses playback on tiny violin pre-record

Bold fail! It looked fine on my phone. Bastard app

BitOutOfPractice · 01/12/2015 11:03

I hope he's playing a jig so Cheryl can grind and pout dance to it

ilovesooty · 01/12/2015 12:09

I don't see why she should be allowed to airbrush her appalling behaviour either.
I can make my own judgement of the OP given her insistence on defending a racist lout.

SuperFlyHigh · 01/12/2015 12:18

Bitofout what do you mean "sadly for her, many people refuse to forget it".

Err yes as women and people we should condone violence, lies by Cheryl, a vicious, nasty and unprovoked attack on someone who was doing a menial job. Do you really want Cheryl to be a role model for your daughter when she's done what she's done?

Cheryl was no by means some wet behind the ears teenager and I strongly believe she didn't learn anything from the incident and with clever PR and Ashley designed to minimise the racism aspect it's believed she got off scot free.

The woman she attacked in her one and only interview in the Guardian said that all she wanted from Cheryl was an apology but this has never been forthcoming. Indeed it's reported that Cheryl showed not one iota of remorse during and after the trial.

So there's no "sadly" for Cheryl in my mind and though it's not top of my list of things to remember it does leave a nasty taste in the mouth, hence forgetting not really any option.

I actually dislike the tone this thread has taken as it's rather bitchy and even towards Cheryl but I certain intensely like what she's done.

GreatFuckability · 01/12/2015 12:38

I have a band I love. In particular I adore the lead singer, I love his voice, his stage personality, his outlook on life. I would go so far as to say I'm a little bit obsessed.
But I also know in his time he has done some really really shitty things. Really shitty. And he acknowledges this too.
So this leads me to wonder who the OP is to VD to be so insistent on defending her??? Why do you care so much??

BitOutOfPractice · 01/12/2015 12:48

Erm, what are you on about SuperFly?. I said that she would like us all to forget the attack but despite her attempts to get us to forget it, we don't. Quite rightly.

I suggest you read my post again Confused I have said repeatedly on this thread that my opinion of her is that she's a racist thug

SuperFlyHigh · 01/12/2015 16:43

Sorry Bit crossed wires Smile. I haven't read past couple of pages.

harshbuttrue1980 · 01/12/2015 16:51

Cheryl was found not guilty of racism, but found guilty of assault. Looking at it with common sense, I doubt that the toilet attendant hit Cheryl first. Someone in a job like that would lose the job straight away if they hit a customer. Also, the toilet attendant wasn't charged with assault.

PestoSkiissimos · 01/12/2015 16:55

How did she ever get into USA for X-Factor when she had a criminal record? I thought they were mega-strict about that sort of stuff Confused

squoosh · 01/12/2015 17:01

I think they're strict with us plebs but celebs manage to get around it. Russell Brand has managed okay. Which is weird actually because Nigella was stopped from boarding a flight to America just for merely admitting she'd used cocaine.

specialsubject · 01/12/2015 17:12

It seems that the American authorities don't like drugs, but are less bothered about violence. Amy Winehouse was denied a visa for drug use (this was before she also got done for assault, by which time she was long past performing). Brand (whose purpose escapes me..) got detained for violence but was then allowed in.

Tweedy doesn't have a record for drugs.

disclaimer; allegedly.

BitOutOfPractice · 01/12/2015 17:16

She wasn't convicted of racially aggravated assault. Although she did call the victim a black bitch during the incident so...

Superfly I can assure you i am no apologist for this woman.

PiperChapstick · 02/12/2015 16:44

Cheryl VD said after the assault (about racism accusations):

'I have a little one-and-a-half year- old cousin who is Caribbean, so the idea I would say something like that is unthinkable. The one thing in this world that I am not is racist and I never will be.

'Throughout the Popstars: The Rivals series Javine (Hylton, who is black) was my closest friend. That could never have been the case if I was racist, it is a ridiculous suggestion'

Hmm sounds like the "my neighbour is black so I can't be racist" attitude.

I am not a fan of Cheryl VD. She has a few ok songs but can't sing for toffee and if she was on X factor or the voice now as a contestant she would be laughed off the stage.

I would usually say to forget the assault, she's older now and people deserve to have their mistakes put behind them. However she's never apologised or addressed her behaviour she has just felt sorry for herself, so I think k it goes to show what an unpleasant person she is.

Also I don't see what is so attractive about her. Even in her Poostars days she was nothing special looking, I'm not being mean, I just think shes overhyped.

Cleo81 · 05/12/2015 21:27

I don't think she's racist as she was cleared of this charge and we don't actually have any proof she called the attendant a black bitch. I don't believe everything reported in the papers.

I don't particularly like her and think she's a rubbish singer. It seems she did get away Scott free with that assult but then this is quite common amongst celebs I think. Kate moss' fledging career sky rocketed when she was photographed taking cocaine. It's not right.

God yeah! Cheryl was lucky that reality shows as singing contests were just starting out and the talent wasn't brilliant back then. If she auditioned now I don't think she'd get past boot camp. I often laugh at the fact she is critiquing the singing of contestants with much more talent than her, like Louisa. When watching the show I feel like the contestants only seem to care and respect Rita and Simons opinions anyway.
