I dont get why everyone always says she can't sing and isnt talented.

Also Chezza was cleared of all racism charges, oh I can't think why... Let me ask a few people I know in the legal profession as to how a witness may not want to proceed with a racial charge against someone, etc?

Do you really think as I've said before that attendant wanted an unwarranted attack by Chezza on her and vile verbal abuse? At the very least being called a bitch and being ranted at by a drunken woman? No. Do you know how much that woman earns and how probably after this whole event she won't want to return to that job and rightly so?! Chezza should feel utterly ashamed but as reported in tabloids she expressed no remorse throughout the case and verdict. That last sentence tells me more than I want or need to know about our dear Chezza.

The younger more vacuous members of UK who haven't seen that report re the attack think she is lily white and ok, some indeed may look up to her. Certainly not a sweetheart.

It is remarkable what little it takes for a few to forget racism- another example is the football player Vardy, three weeks ago called racist, now he is being hailed a hero because he has scored consecutive goals for Leicester.

I would have to think long and hard about anyone who deserves the title 'country's sweetheart' TBH.

sparkling I think if she'd apologised or shown remorse after the attack (which she didn't not one iota just wanted it airbrushed from her career or simply whacked out of her life, a bit like the attack on the toilet attendant) THEN I'd be far more likely to look at Chezza in a different light, and be more forgiving to her.... Not that she as a personality really strikes a chord with me...

But she hasn't. When her attack came out a number of my friends were shocked and appalled by it... The ones it offended most of course were the ones who were black or indeed Asian etc. the other reason most people were offended was because it was an attack on a mostly defenceless and innocent worker. Whenever I've seen toilet attendants I see them as doing a great job, not one I'd prefer to do, but a great job. In fact I've even made friends of some of them in various bars in the past. Chezza's behaviour towards them especially considering her hard upbringing sits very badly with me.

OP Ive seen fights on nights out but they are few and far between and only very aggressive people start them especially with staff working at a venue! Not even another drunk person. Ridiculous.
I don't watch Geordie shore because it looks mind numbing but it's reality TV not reality!
Just because a few other people start fights doesn't make it acceptable to do so. Some people murder too doesn't make it ok.

I was trying to say those that think of her as a national sweetheart do so because she knows how to play the media. She is racist to me and that's it. I do actually think VD has huge huge talent. Just not in singing, dancing or music.

No, she has a mediocre talent and is very lucky. Luck got her where she is today.

What I really don't understand is why OP started this thread in the first place? What possible benefit would it have? I'm sure Cheryl F-V doesn't give a crap what a few people on MN think of her, or what happened when a fan posted a totally unsolicited post praising her (though it is somewhat embarrassing that OP thinks that video link is live singing).

Most people haven't said they hate her or think she's talentless. They've pointed out one particularly unsavoury episode, which is not "real life" for most of us, and said that she's not an amazing singer but has used what she's got to do well for herself.

As for the "one hour to live" thing, I work in intensive care and that's total bullshit. Firstly, we can never be that accurate with our prognostication, especially in a young previously healthy person with a reversible diesease, secondly we'd never say it to a patient or relatives and thirdly even if we did, someone with "an hour to live" with something like malaria would not be in any fit state to hear or remember it. I don't dispute she had malaria - I have no evidence to the contrary and some in favour of it - but don't buy all the tabloid hype.

IMHO, as a pp said, if she had shown just an ounce of remorse with her nasty attack on someone who was doing a godawful job (toilet attendant) I might feel differently about her. If she was 15 and it was before she was on a high winning Popstars and part of GA, I might feel differently too. She just tries to airbrush that part of her away but the public don't forget because lamping someone who works in a toilet leaving them with a closed eye, bruising and bleeding is not a normal thing to do after a few drinks and should never be made OK.
