To tell DD she can pay for her own activities from now on?

She is 10. I am fed up with paying for activities that she becomes bored with. Over the years we have had Brownies, Tennis lessons, Ballet, and now gymnastics - each time she tries it for a bit then gets bored, or finds it too difficult, partly because she doesn't go to most of the lessons.

So WIBU to tell DD that she must pay for any new activities she wants to take up? I have already told her that she needs to pay for any lesson that she doesn't attend.

She has lots of money that she has saved, and plenty of opportunity to earn money at home doing chores.

misc it depends. Has your child given it a good go.

Honestly even at 5, I would have made my kids give it a decent go.

My four year old has a hobby, it's definitely easier since we found one at 4pm so can go straight from school.

He sometimes says he doesn't want to go but has a good time once he is there. The last few weeks have been difficult because he usual instructors have been away and he missed them.

If he was complaining all the time I would be looking at setting a time limit and telling him if he gives it a good try and still isn't happy by then that we can stop.

YABU if you sign up for something you stick with it for the period of lessons booked and paid for. This is a lesson for her to learn, and the more she sticks with something the more she may like it.

If I pay for a term, they go for a term, no excuses.

If I pay as I go, then they can quit.

They must do at least one sport though.

Dd has dropped out of a few things. I just make her finish what we've paid for andnot let down a team eg drama performance. She has now stuck with skating and netball for a long time. It's a long day at school and i am not starting dragging her somewhere else. Only thing that grates is the karate suit inthe cupboard!
