AIBU to be worried that this lunatic might actually be US President... he makes GWB look like a pacifist academic! As for his latest proposal that all US Muslims should carry 'Muslim I'd cards' how much longer before he ceases to have double the polling %s of his nearest republican challenger!

Haha yeah! She was a lobbyist while her DH was president. Thanks to her when I've had my babies the lady in the next room to me gets exactly the same care throughout her pregnancy and in the 8 weeks after no matter her financial circumstances. Also she was very influential regarding the WIC program. I know a couple of GPs who work in deprived areas. It's been a highly effective program according to them.

Also HC was the one who pushed for rules regarding stays in hospital after delivery. It's a minimum of 48 hours after a vaginal birth and 72 hours after a CS. After a CS there is zero kickback from insurance companies for stays up to five days.

Here in NJ we have manditory PND screening before discharge and after its completed by the paediatrician (2wk check up) and obn (6 wk check up) thanks to the poor poor wife of governor mcgreevy. Arsehole ran off leaving her with no money. His boyfriend worked for Goldman Sachs making $$$ so the ex governor stopped working to avoid paying to support his wife. In their divorce the ex govenor made details of their sex life public which I thought was a very cruel thing to do. I thought this lady and HC should have been tasked with reforming healthcare.

Yeah, all rapists have been convicted.

His lawyer's defense in the press was that rape within marriage isn't illegal. The defense of a rapist if ever I saw one.

Want2bSupermum · 28/11/2015 18:23

Call Trump lots of things but I strongly disagree with calling anyone a rapist unless they are convicted. We live in a society where we are presumed innocent until proven guilty. None of us know what happened. What we do know is that he hasn't been convicted by a court of either domestic abuse or rape. Until that happens I think it's highly unfair to ignore the presumption of innocence.

Also rape within marriage has been illegal in the US since the early 80s. Before that I understand it came under domestic abuse and was dealt within the family court system so details remained private to protect the DC plus the judge could more easily restrict the abusers access to the DC.

MrsTerryPratchett · 28/11/2015 18:36

Have a look. Courts are supposed to presume innocence. Rightly so. But I reserve the right to believe Ivana over Donald. rainn.org/news-room/97-of-every-100-rapists-receive-no-punishment

Want2bSupermum · 28/11/2015 18:47

I am aware of the conviction rates. I'm also aware that someone like Trump has people working in the home. His ex wife could have reported this to the Police. There would have been people working in the home who would have witnessed this as in heard her screaming etc. Contrary to public opinion in the UK the Police here in the US would have thoroughly investigated this and prosecuted given half the chance.

I'm not prepared to call anyone a rapist until they are convicted. Also I find it odd that there have been no other reports of domestic abuse or rape by his other ex wives or current wife.

SarahSavesTheDay · 28/11/2015 18:57

Want2b you're really the only person I've ever come across who is willing to launch a defense of Donald Trump. Whether he's a rapist or not (I believe Ivanka, incidentally) - he is perfectly comfortable assigning women their worth based on how fuckable he imagines they might be.

Baconyum · 28/11/2015 19:07

Including his own daughter who he said in an interview he 'would date' if he could bleugh Envy

I believe ivanka

It would be a nightmare trying to get a conviction against someone like him who could easily buy off/threaten any potential witnesses.

MrsTerryPratchett · 28/11/2015 19:16

I wouldn't call someone a convicted rapist until they were convicted. I'm happy to call someone a rapist if I believe they are one. In a Court, it is incredibly difficult to get a conviction, almost impossible against a rich white man. Any witnesses would have been his employees.

Shades of Bill Cosby, who you need 50 women accusing before anyone thinks it's likely.

SarahSavesTheDay · 28/11/2015 20:59

Including his own daughter who he said in an interview he 'would date' if he could bleugh

I forgot about this Donald Trump vintage gem. Awesome.

HotterWok · 28/11/2015 21:53

Want2be: you sound like an intelligent person but you are defending Donald Trump, is this just a patriotism thing?

fuffapster · 28/11/2015 22:06

He apparently has clear traits of narcissism - www.psychologytoday.com/blog/stop-walking-eggshells/201510/does-donald-trump-have-narcissistic-personality-disorder

He lies regularly - e.g. 'thousands of Muslims celebrating 9/11'

He is really dangerous I think.

However, I saw a good point made - by Carl Rove I think (or some Republican strategist). He said that in terms of popularity, Trump has a 'high floor but a low ceiling' - although he's been the front runner (in the Republican camp) all this time, he's not got above 30% or so. Hopefully, that demonstrates the limit of his appeal.

Tamponlady · 28/11/2015 22:26

I think t his fool could have his finger on the button I think the us will be a laughing stock and their will have to be a new world order to prevent this Buffon for running a mock

On another note he goes on about his bunniness acumen turns out if he just left his money in the back that his father gave him he would have been millions better off lol

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 28/11/2015 22:39

This is a terrible thing to say

But I really hope he gets assassinated

hangs head in shame

He ducking deserves it

Want2bSupermum · 28/11/2015 22:46

I think calling someone a rapist is extremely dangerous when they have not been found guilty by a court. We have a system whereby everyone has a right to a fair trial and are presumed innocent until proven guilty. If his ex wife was raped she should report the crime to the police and it should be dealt with by the authorities.

I don't like Trump as a candidate but I wouldn't call him a rapist. If they can convict Mike Tyson they can also convict Trump and Crosby. Quite frankly I am shocked there hasn't been criminal proceedings against Crosby.

howtorebuild · 28/11/2015 22:52

Unfortunately he is in with a chance. Sad

MrsTerryPratchett · 28/11/2015 23:32

It is extremely dangerous... www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/jul/02/donald-trump-racist-claims-mexico-rapes He is quite happy to call immigrants 'rapists' with no evidence. Ivana's written account is evidence of his crime.

The fact that he keeps going on about rapists really makes me think he has a bad case of mentionitis.

Behooven · 28/11/2015 23:47

There's many things he may or may not be. The old saying 'if it looks like a pig and grunts like a pig.....' Comes to mind.
