Whether or not you think IBU I'm going to bellow out the words to the Marsellaise when the anthems are played tonight. And it's better than the English anthem by far.

Thread title has to be the best auto-incorrect of the day.

bessiebumptious2 · 17/11/2015 19:59

Regardless, I kind of hope France win tonight. Just 'cause.

DoctorTwo · 17/11/2015 19:59

YoungGirlGrowingOld · 17/11/2015 20:04

I will also be singing the Mayonnaise OP (and hoping les Frenchies win!) Grin

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 17/11/2015 20:06

Thought it was very moving. Not watching the match, but wanted to watch the anthem singing and crowd support.

wowfudge · 17/11/2015 20:07

I've just done the same. My friend in Paris says people are jittery, but defiant.

FetaComplete · 17/11/2015 20:09

Aux armes, Hellman's
Aux armes, vinaigrette
Dijon, La Maille..
C'est La Maille qui M'aille

Et tous les condiments

FartyTette · 17/11/2015 20:10

I shed a little tear at the singing of the Mayonnaise Marseillaise - especially when both teams stood together for the team pics.

FetaComplete · 17/11/2015 20:11

I don't normally watch footie but I'm making an exception tonight

iklboo · 17/11/2015 20:11

The Marseillaise gives me goosebumps anyway, knowing its origins. Even more so after Friday.

Seriouslyffs · 17/11/2015 20:12

Aw, thank you Dr not many laughs to be had at the moment!

OhtoblazeswithElvira · 17/11/2015 20:12
Grin Thanks op. I think we all needed that.
SoWhite · 17/11/2015 20:13

Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. Grin Star

AuntieStella · 17/11/2015 20:14

I don't really care who wins (if it were rugby, that would be a different matter) but glad they're playing. An unimportant friendly becomes a strikingly significant fixture. BBC said thousands of extra tickets were sold since the weekend.

OTOH, tonight's Germany v Netherlands has been called off because of a specific threat www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34849263

GrouchyKiwi · 17/11/2015 20:14

Outstanding autocorrect. Grin

Mayonnaise goes well with French Fries, though, so I guess it's appropriate.

I don't think YWBU at all. Smile

hefzi · 17/11/2015 20:15

I love autocorrect !

I always sing the Marseillaise anyway - a)because I can and b) because it's rousing: frightens the colleagues at work, but what the hell...

EdithWeston · 17/11/2015 20:15

I thought it must be an affectionate spoof version, like 'ou est le papier'
