My husband never, in 30 years, calls me by my name. He uses it in conversation when he talks about me but never directly.
AIBU to think this is odd?

Ignore him when he talks to you so he has to call your name Grin

sparkofnaturesfire · 10/11/2015 19:56

My DP very very rarely says my name. I love it when he does and makes me feel all warm inside Blush probably because it is so rarely said. I say his name All. The. Time.

There's a lot of mummy/daddy as we have a toddler and a lot of pet names but mainly from me. Hmmm, come to think of it, I don't think he calls me anything very much! Must pay more attention!

Ha. After me writing this he's just come through from putting DS to bed and exclaimed "Is that the dishwasher on again, lazybones?!" Grin It was said rather affectionately though!

BeanGirls · 10/11/2015 21:18

Mine says BABE or Mummy if he's talking to the dc Grin it's weird when he calls my by my name!

ciele · 10/11/2015 21:54

Hi again...no I haven't posted before, I am fairly new here but a bit addicted! And he could have forgotten...he forgets just about everything else!
I am an extrovert and he an introvert so that could be the nub of it.
If I didn't answer he would just say the same thing again but LOUDER. We are both a bit deaf which makes our DDs laugh.

Mine does say my name when annoyed normally its a pet name. Mostly we call each other 'swine' it's a gesture of affection honestGrin

ReginaBlitz · 10/11/2015 23:38

Mine neither! It really fucks me off if I'm being honest. I don't get it.

ciele · 10/11/2015 23:39

Dixie - sorry can't seem to master the bold typeface. Unfortunately it's a bit of a sore point but hey ho I'll just be she who cannot be named!

I've actually asked mine and he just says I've never called anyone by there name and never even called his mum "mum" wtf. Funny how you say about extrovert and introvert as that's exactly what we are as in I'm extrovert and him introvert. I still find it upsetting though but you live with it.
