A Load of fireworks have just gone off, my baby woke up crying, I've raced out of the house to the house where they were being Let off, I said "if you let one more firework off before the 5th november" I'll shove that firework so far up your arse ?? now three dogs in the street are howling, my cat has gone in hiding and I need to comfort my son!!

You think it's funny not knowing what Diwali is?OMFG!

RoseWithoutAThorn · 15/10/2015 20:02

I've never actually seen Diwali celebrated where I live in Scotland either.

TurnOffTheTv · 15/10/2015 20:02

You must live in the arse end of nowhere.

WyldChyld · 15/10/2015 20:03

OP, I don't think you realise still how unreasonable you are being! It doesn't matter whether they had a "good" reason for setting them off, you threatened them which could be construed as either assault or harrassment! It would be completely unnatural for the teenagers or their parents to call the police and report them.

Frankly, your baby could be woken up by a car alarm going off, a car back firing, someone shouting in the street, you, your partner, the telly, the cat, waking up anyway... They have set them off at a very reasonable hour, your behaviour was disgusting.

I strongly recommend apologising NOW and explaining that you are aware you were horribly unreasonable but sleep deprived etc. Failing this, be fully prepared for the police to "discuss" the incident with you.

RoseWithoutAThorn · 15/10/2015 20:04

You must live in the arse end of nowhere.

We live in a very rural area.

Pinkandbluemcdonald5 · 15/10/2015 20:05

I have never witnessed Diwali celebrations either.

Chattymummyhere · 15/10/2015 20:06

If someone told me they would shove my fireworks up my arse if I set off anymore I would prob go and buy more just to piss them off. I warn my neighbours who have dogs though.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 15/10/2015 20:06

Talk about an extreme, unnecessary, aggressive reaction. Yes fireworks can be loud and annoying but a handful of nights a year is the most most people have to deal with them. I honestly think you owe your neighbours an apology for your pathetic outburst.

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 15/10/2015 20:07

There's a difference between not having seen something celebrated and not knowing what a major religious festival is.

RachelZoe · 15/10/2015 20:08

Failing this, be fully prepared for the police to "discuss" the incident with you.

God I hope they call the police, thuggy dickheads like OP aren't so big and tough once they knock at the door.

sltorres9 · 15/10/2015 20:08

But if it's not celebrated where I live then of course I wouldn't know what it is!

ouryve · 15/10/2015 20:08

No one celebrates Diwali in my corner of NE England but I know what it is and, if I didn't, I have Aunty Google at my fingertips who can enlighten me before i make myself look ignorant.

londonrach · 15/10/2015 20:10

Yabu op. Ive never seen diwali celebrated either (somerset and surrey, london border). However i love fireworks and if hear any dh and i are running to windows to see them.

sltorres9 · 15/10/2015 20:10

Sorry for not turning to Google to look like a smart arse before posting my comment

OP posts:
Pinkandbluemcdonald5 · 15/10/2015 20:10

The response was ott. But I dislike fireworks too, they are too distressing for animals.

It's nice people warn neighbours who have dogs, but realistically in a built up area, I doubt you go to all the houses who's dogs can hear the explosions.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 15/10/2015 20:12

Also: 'I don't think [Diwali] is celebrated here's Hmm

Perhaps spend your time more wisely. Such as educating yourself, instead of threatening to shove fireworks up people's arses.

VulcanWoman · 15/10/2015 20:13

I live in the Midlands and know about Diwali with there being a large Asian Community but if you live somewhere with a small or no Asian Community, why would you.

sltorres9 · 15/10/2015 20:13

Even my 50 year old mother doesn't know what Diwali is, so she must be ignorant too

OP posts:
WyldChyld · 15/10/2015 20:22

OP. Diwali is the festival of light celebrated by the Hindu faith. They light candles and often set off fireworks. Diwali.

Having repeated this several times (only for you to ignore me)....

GO AND APOLOGISE TO YOUR NEIGHBOURS. PROFUSELY.

They are fully within their rights to call the police and they will take a very dim view of your excuse of "it woke my baby up". The fact that they are teenagers and therefore (probably) minors is WORSE. You could be in A LOT of trouble.

Be an adult, go and apologise.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 15/10/2015 20:27

Must run in the family OP.

sltorres9 · 15/10/2015 20:28

They aren't minors if they have fireworks. If they want to call the police fine

OP posts:
MustBeLoopy390 · 15/10/2015 20:29

Sltorres you are seriously sheltered if you think minors can't get their grubby mitts on fireworks.

Shutthatdoor · 15/10/2015 20:30

No one celebrates Diwali in my corner of NE England but I know what it is and, if I didn't, I have Aunty Google at my fingertips who can enlighten me before i make myself look ignorant.

^I agree.

I strongly suggest OP you go and apologise for you rude and ott behaviour. If they report you you could be in trouble.

The whole world does not have to revolve around your baby.

Specialsnowflake1 · 15/10/2015 20:30

Sltorres9 you are so completely rude. I live in Scotland and are fully aware of what Diwali is and why it is celebrated.

You need to apologise. I would hate to live next to you.

Nottodaythankyouorever · 15/10/2015 20:32

If they want to call the police fine

Can you seriously not see that what you have said was completely stupid and ott?

Go and apologise
