Really wanted a superdry jacket I'm a size 16, tried on the xl and it wouldn't even do up! Tried on the men's and it did up but was very tight!Shock feel huge now! Been in a mood all day because of it haha

Im 41 and wear superdry, most of my coats/jackets are from there. I dont care if I look odd to others because I love the designs/colours. Although Im a size 14 and take a large/X large so do feel a bit rubbish because of that. I dont believe the clothes are designed for ages 12-18?? More like young adults.

devmum · 14/10/2015 20:35

The sizing on Superdry is mental. I'm usually a 12-14, but my coat from there is XL. And as far as I can tell the coats are unisex, so that's what my 6ft4 DH would expect to fit too.

At the moment I'm also 37 weeks pregnant so wear it done up at the top (finally a point for all the zips) with my giant bump sticking out of the bottom. I am awaiting their call to become a brand ambassador. Grin

Me624 · 14/10/2015 20:36

I am a size 12 with big boobs. The large was a bit tight on me so I bought XL. Won't be fitting into it for much longer now that I'm nearly 20 weeks pregnant!

StillYummy · 14/10/2015 20:51

There shoes only go up to a 7 and their trousers are really short, despite the sleeves on there coats being nice and long. Tall person problems!

WhatamessIgotinto · 14/10/2015 22:55

They're tiny! I saw quite a nice SD jacket then noticed that most of the kids in my school are wearing either the same or something very similar. At 48, I do not want to be wearing the same jacket as a 12 year old.

AryaOfWinterfell · 14/10/2015 23:02

I'm surprised Superdry are still going. Most teens I know wouldn't be seen dead in it. It's become quite a naff brand name now. So don't worry OP the fact it doesn't fit you is probably a blessing in disguise!

SistersOfPercy · 14/10/2015 23:08

I'm a pretty average size 12 but I have a larger chest. Can't get a boob in anything in there which is a shame because I love their check shirts.

DH works in an office where all the men of all ages wear branded shirts, most popular are Ralph Lauren and Super dry. Incidentally, neither iron as nicely as M&S Hmm

ThisWasCrownjewel · 14/10/2015 23:09

YADNBU. I was a pancake-chested size 6 a long time and three stone ago, thank you DCs and still have a SD jacket in size S hanging in the cupboard unworn, as the bloody zips wouldn't do up.

Homepride1 · 14/10/2015 23:11

They come up TINY!!!! I'm a size 6/8 and had to buy a medium!!!

I was told it's because it's a Japanese company and that they are all really tiny which is why the sizing is so out

SwedishEdith · 14/10/2015 23:15

It's not Japanese. It was started by two blokes in a garage in Slough, wasn't it?

Shinyshoes2 · 14/10/2015 23:28

Yes Swedish , two English blokes no GCSEs , a £2000 loan but I think they were from Cheltenham

SquareStarfish · 14/10/2015 23:40

Mine is a xl and I'm a 14. When i was a 12 it got too big. I always thought they were pretty good at sizing. Xl=14, l=12, m=10, s=8, xs =6
My other clothes from there are the same size and xl too.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/10/2015 23:42

My size 8 coat is too big, I've been thinking of hotwashing it.

I'm a size 8 in other shops.

ouryve · 14/10/2015 23:44

They're pretty much aimed at tiny teens.

ouryve · 14/10/2015 23:47

Jack Wolfskin coats don't have any boob room at all. North face aren't much better.

SwedishEdith · 14/10/2015 23:54

Yes, it was Cheltenham - just checked.

Sucker. .

Shit clothes with a stupid label.

PerspicaciaTick · 15/10/2015 02:15

When I see an adult wearing Superdry, I have to resist the urge to hoick my bosoms and mutter "mutton...lamb" disapprovingly

StephenKatz · 15/10/2015 06:29

Shit? Mutton? I have this and it's the warmest, softest school run coat I've ever owned...

Stanky · 15/10/2015 06:40

Are they still really expensive as well? My bil bought a jacket a few years ago for 80 quid! I thought that he was silly, and I don't think that I've ever seen him wear it. He probably couldn't do the zip up, and he's not fat.

Homepride1 · 15/10/2015 07:46

swedish wow really I had no idea, when I was told it was Japanese the sizing kind of made sense!

Agree the are a little Hmm but hell who cares warmest coat I have ever had for the school run!

FindoGask · 15/10/2015 07:50

I hate how branded Superdry is. I wouldn't be sad if their stuff didn't fit me, I don't like being a walking advertisement.

southeastastra · 15/10/2015 08:02

i have a couple of their sweatshirts and am a 14/16 are they are big! the sizing is a bit odd.

Isitchristmasyet4 · 15/10/2015 08:05

Lol at the person who said its a kids brand. Hmm
I agree it's very small fitting.
