No, it was very disturbing. There were bits where I had to cover my eyes. I feel like they just went for shock content rather than a decent storyline.

Thought lady Gaga was brilliant tho x

The rape scene was uncomfortable, but the rest was not so bad, no?
A normal Walking dead episode is far more scary than that.

Matt Bomer and Lady Gaga were gorgeous btw.

It was very....full on is the way I described it at the time. It's a bit too early to be thinking about storyline I think. It's set the scene.

Mind you, having said that I thought Freak Show was going to be the best of the lot but I found it so disappointing. Murder House and Asylum are still my favourites.

I'm in the uk and watched it online. I'm on the fence, I think it's because Jessica Lange isn't in it and she makes the series, she will be a miss I think. I will persevere with it though.

Totally agree about lady gaga and Matt bomer though. And she is a much better actress than I expected.

Yep, I believe the actor is going to show up later in the series, though I didn't see his name in the credits.

I think I may be the only viewer out there that really enjoyed Freak Show. I loved the mix of characters and the storylines.
I've just watched episode 1 of Hotel and I'm not sure what to think. I think it may end up scarier than Freak Show (I've not watched S2 and 3 and only half of 1) but I don't know if that's a good thing! Lady Gaga played the character well, as did Sarah Paulson. Not sure what to make of Kathy Bates yet - I wanted more from her character, I suppose it'll come as the series goes on.

I loved Freak Show too! I didn't realise Jessica Lange isn't in Hotel. I'm so disappointed - she's utterly brilliant and made the show what it is, imho.

I am impatiently waiting for the Freak Show AHS to come on netflix so I can continue watching. Loved the other ones.

It was very good, still haven't had that 'amazing!' of Asylum from any other AHS though. Rape seen was difficult viewing, but it would be more disturbing if it wasn't. I've 'seen worse' though, I can only assume it's part of the plot, as it was in Murder House, and not just gratuitous.

When I read the comments earlier I couldn't recall the rape scene and thought I'd missed something....it's all just came flooding back!! Yea there's going to be nightmares about that tonight. Think my mind must have totally blocked it out as I watched it knowing I'd never cope with it.

It may have been, Hot, however I found it to be the best due to one stand-out fact - if you take out the supernatural elements of Asylum, it's still terrifying. Because much of it is based on truth, on how people were treated even if not mentally ill by today's standards. For me, it made it both difficult and brilliant to watch, the balance of reality and things that could be debated. If Kathy Bates had been in that series, I doubt it could be ever topped - her relationship with Jessica Lange's characters in both Coven and Freak Show were exceptional, and I'm already missing it in Hotel (very glad she seems to be 'top female' billing in this series though).

Didn't see this 'cos I looked in Telly Addicts, yup pretty hard going at times.

I'm yet to get past the first episode of freak show. Dd assures me it gets better but I spent the entire hour with dh and I doing our best wtf faces.

Is it worth returning to? Still think the first season was by far the best.
