I won't mention names but some of them seem to be popular for....not a lot really. Certain people come to mind who have a reputation for being straight talking and funny but most of the time I don't see it. I find them rather disagreeable tbh. Is it just me?

Yup, still annoyed whomever you are. Not at being told off on one particular thread in defence of another poster. Joining a thread to give your opinion/defend another poster whether I agree with your opinion or not is fair game. Telling me that I'm always like that by an anonymous poster (who may or may not have been you - how on earth would i know?) who has never posted one sentence in adoption and name changes regularly so I can't see what they've posted elsewhere on MN and can't even give me an example of where I've been so horrible is fucking cowardly. I've been talked out of namechaging a few times over the past 10 years but it does set you up to be shot down as people recognise your name.

As it happens I just chose to post less often so its win-win all round. I don't offend people and anonymous posters don't irritate me.

I don't think it's bizarre to post in adoption for the record.
