I won't mention names but some of them seem to be popular for....not a lot really. Certain people come to mind who have a reputation for being straight talking and funny but most of the time I don't see it. I find them rather disagreeable tbh. Is it just me?

I think all the grumpy people need some of my morphine

Seriously though what is the point of this thread.

"I don't like some people on the Internet" shocker

I think MN has changed over the last few years, it's become enormous, more trolls are attracted and the recent name changing makes it
Feel less personal, but for me the good
Still
Outweighs the bad. When it doesn't, I'll just leave, I won't start posting childish threads under a name change. Some people get way too invested

HoneyDragon · 08/10/2015 17:21

I assume the builders will be fine, I reckon occasional unexpected boobs are part of the job description.

Excuse me Maryz, I'm real too, but none of the above (not MNHQ, sadly not Hullygully, can't be Sparkling because she likes the unspeakable Clarkson, only got the one persona which can be tracked back to 2006, definitely not "normal", and we'd both know if I were you).

I am sometimes rude though. Look:

fuck

ghostyslovesheep · 08/10/2015 17:33

penis headed wank monster oh I can be rude as well - I shall never be popular though I am too much of a cross old bag

I genuinely don't see backslapping etc.

I see posters who have known each other a while and I see posters I don't know, all having a bit of a chuckle apart from three posters who are cross about it.

As for not answering the op and going off at tangents, wouldn't a long list of yes/no be abit er dull?

And isn't the answer implicit in the thread itself? Lots of people old and new getting along nicely without worrying who is "popular" or not?

Jo4040 · 08/10/2015 17:36

What was the name of that thread? I'm gona search it and read it to see who came up Wink

SkandiStyle · 08/10/2015 17:37

You can't please all of Mumsnet all of the time...

Mumsnet is just a digital version of the real life ebb and flow of interpersonal relations. Some Mumsnetters make you go squee and do a little twirl of joy when you see them.

Others...well they are the digitised version of those nasty, navy, prickly PE pants you had to wear at primary school.

But at least on Mumsnet no one can make you wear the nasty PE pants anymore. You can choose instead to smile and avoid, and go and find the fun girls to play with instead...

Like MaryZ and Hully et al [mwah mwah]

Hullygully · 08/10/2015 17:38

There are a lot of people on this thread that I clearly know. But they don't have the right names. Make yourselves known. AT ONCE

Narp · 08/10/2015 17:39

I will answer the OP but first I need facts

How many popular posters are there?
Define popular
Define rude
What percentage of popular posters are rude?
What percentage of non-popular posters are rude?
What percentage of popular posters are not rude?

Hullygully · 08/10/2015 17:40

Do buffy's wondrous balloons not suffice?

Purple - I'm disappointed, I thought I had spotted Scottishmummy's new guise and was feeling a tad smug. I'm sure you'll do instead though.

Only one I recognise through hail, hurricanes and snow is Xenia - and you'd have to be dead to miss her ploughing through the board.
