Doesn't sound like you like them much - why not just stay home?

Pico2 · 01/10/2015 18:35

I'd give them cash - less hassle and they might not want a huge bottle of champagne.

How much would this huge bottle of champagne cost you? Is it one you have in the house already?

BrendaandEddie · 01/10/2015 18:38

no but I have seen double ones ( whatever they are called) in Waitrose.

Or just a single

Or any other ideas. the thing about champagne is that it is disposable - not more stuff for them when they have a home already

BrendaandEddie · 01/10/2015 18:39

or a JL voucher?

It seems so BLUNT, ' oh look brenda and eddie gave us £50' iykwim

A bottle of champagne is fine. I wouldn't get a double one though.

BrendaandEddie · 01/10/2015 18:44

ok

the other thing I thought of was that book I often give for 50th - place to see before I die

but thats stuff and a bit morbid

I'd give cash (always do).

sky1010 · 01/10/2015 18:46

What is so difficult about popping in the post office? Confused

LittleBearPad · 01/10/2015 18:48

Send them sterling and they can sort out the exchange. A magnum of champagne would be annoying to me at least

Only1scoop · 01/10/2015 18:49

Just pop in m&s instead of waitrose and get the equivalent in currency of choice

Starkswillriseagain · 01/10/2015 18:49

I'd give cash or champers, not a book or anything else that could clutter. Not a massive champers, just normal.

If you need to do a currency exchange, are they from abroad? In which case money or vouchers is sensible imo, rather then things they'd have to drag on a plane.

BrendaandEddie · 01/10/2015 18:49

i havent time to get there before

OP posts:
twirlypoo · 01/10/2015 18:49

I actually think in this scenario cash would be easiest! Save yourself the hassle and just give them what they want (unless you already have the champers, in which case that's easier!)

PassiveAgressiveQueen · 01/10/2015 18:49

A bottle of champagne is fine.
not everyone likes champagne.
walk into post office with your credit/debit card ask for foreign money, pay with card.
No more effort than buying champagne they don't want.

Chrysanthemum5 · 01/10/2015 18:49

Don't do anything your H is the one who knows them so it's his problem Grin

BrendaandEddie · 01/10/2015 18:50

post office in TOWN
its a hassle - just trust me on that

OP posts:
Starkswillriseagain · 01/10/2015 18:50

Oh or is this currency for a honeymoon?

vindscreenviper · 01/10/2015 18:50

Give them one of these, I think it's worth about £50
