Her arms just look way too thin, the article is not the greatest photos but a quick google makes her look even thinner.

People often told me I was "tiny" pre pregnancy and are saying the same 9 weeks post birth.

I'm not tiny, all the weight I put on whilst pregnant was essential growing a band weight, my BMI is mid range for my height. It bothers me that people think I am "tiny", because I'm not.

People comment all the time on Cheryl's weight, at the moment she does look v thin but she's never been big.

The "we've lost perspective on what normal is" line is mooted to often on here tbh. People can be underweight, you know.

I assumed most people realised the camera adds weight but it seems not from this thread. She's much skinner than she looks in those photos.

I interviewed Sarah Michelle geller once. She was so thin she looked like those famous pictures of size zero Nicole richie. Look at a photo of SMG, she looks perfectly normal.

I can't imagine how guant CHeryl looks IRL to look like that in photos.

treaclesoda · 19/08/2015 09:19

I didn't know who she was until I clicked on the link and then the penny dropped and it was an 'oooh, it's that Cheryl!'.

I think she looks beautiful in the first link, slim and toned.

I also think that it must be hideous to be in the public eye and have every inch of your body scrutinised, too thin, too fat, nothing will ever please people.

FuckyNell · 19/08/2015 09:23

I actually had a SIOB moment when I saw the second picture.

Rhine · 19/08/2015 09:28

She looks bloody awful and definitely isn't naturally skinny either. I remember her on Popstars years ago and she was much more curvaceous then.

I think she looks very unwell actually, I saw one photo of her recently where here eyes looked sunken.

There's definitely something going on behind the scenes. Probably married to another idiot.

Lurkedforever1 · 19/08/2015 09:51

Yabvvvu, rude, and offensive. I'm that skinny, always have been. And when not exercising lots I look thinner. If I'm upset or the odd illness, I can drop further. And being tall makes me look thinner still. Not only am I the picture of health I'm happy with my looks regardless of what a load of jealous nasty people think.
All the people calling her too thin should post pics of themselves or similar size celebrities and see how they feel about everyone saying 'too fat' or 'look at the lard'. It's no different to what you're doing to thin people.
However pedal your spiteful opinions in rl in the direction of my dd, who is also skinny, and I'll tear your self esteem into shreds. It's sad that at 11 my dd has already had to defend herself from snide comments from fat peers, and if it's parents like you who are teaching their kids this criticism you should be ashamed. And at 11, my dd has no hesitation in returning insult for insult. She's not bought into the societal bollocks of thin shaming being ok but saying fat is cruel.

Ilovecrapcrafts · 19/08/2015 10:29

How do you know you're the same size lurked?

designedbynature · 19/08/2015 10:35

She looks very slim but then if you meet most people of TV you would think the same.

Leave her be, I hope that she has a couple of children and joins us on Mumsnet.

Rhine · 19/08/2015 10:43

Lurked do you not realise how hypocritical you sound by bemoaning how rude it is criticise skinny people, whilst refering to others as "fat peers" and "lard"? Youve automatically lose them moral high ground right there.

The fact is being very underweight is just as unhealthy as being morbidly obese. The healthy balance is somewhere in the middle.

Lurkedforever1 · 19/08/2015 10:48

Because in terms of body fat/ muscle, I am. Obviously I've not stood next to her, and I'm not sure of her stats. Iirc from media stuff she's a fair bit shorter and therefore likely smaller boned. Or whether as a pp said she has 'cankles' and a bigger bottom half. But as we're discussing body fat, rather than actual stats, basic build, facial features etc I'm quite a direct comparison.

Ilovecrapcrafts · 19/08/2015 10:51

You don't know her weight, body fat or muscle stats though. You have no idea whether you're a similar size.

Presumably you do realise there are people who are underweight? People with eating disorders do exist? Pointing that out doesn't make someone bitter and jealous....

Lurkedforever1 · 19/08/2015 11:04

rhine yes. I did it deliberately. I'm making the point if you wouldn't like to be called fat or lardy, don't call people too thin and boney. I don't actually think of dds larger friends as fat peers, however some people are quite happy to make nasty remarks about my dds natural healthy appearance, and from this thread I can see where it comes from, so I was demonstrating how it is in reverse.
Unlike people saying thin though I've not posted pics of an individual to make snide remarks about. And you just know if someone did there'd be outrage, because there's double standards about fat and thin.
I don't actually go around making judgements in rl about people's weight. Despite the best efforts of the media and many females I don't have self esteem issues about my size anymore. But my dds appearance is being judged too with the comments so yes, I want to highlight how rude people are being. I'm just making a point to the op and the others in agreement.

Mintyy · 19/08/2015 11:11

Fucks sake. I am sick of these threads.

It is not "body shaming" or "criticising" someone who is naturally thin.

It is expressing concern for the health of someone who has lost a lot of weight and now looks unwell.

There is always a race to skirt round the issue of anorexia and eating disorders on Mumsnet which I find quite baffling.

I am not a fan of the woman but I doubt op has started this thread to be bitchy.

Mintyy · 19/08/2015 11:15

Good luck with that then Fitzers.

Of the girls in my dd's primary school class that she is still in touch with, two have anorexia and one bullimia. All onset at age 12-13.

Mintyy · 19/08/2015 11:16

And is it desirable or normal to see ribs on an adult woman who is not breathing in? I doubt that.

TRexingInAsda · 19/08/2015 11:21

Stop bodyshaming! She looks fine - maybe not to your taste, but who the fuck are you? Nobody. Not everybody likes the same thing - you don't like it, some people do, that doesn't mean she's 'too thin'. You could say she's 'too thin for my taste' which would be more accurate, but would mean accepting to yourself that you're pointlessly judging something that's none of your business.

Re the 6-pack question, no that's utter bullshit, you just need your belly fat to not be too much to cover your stomach muscles, and your stomach muscles to be toned/big enough to see under a thin layer of fat. My 6-pack was visible when the gym measured my body fat as 13%. But men tend to have a lower body fat percentage than women, for a man 13% might not be that low. But you wouldn't have to be 0% for a 6-pack to show, for sure. a 6-pack is a sign of health and fitness, 0% fat is a sign you might be dead.

Rovinja · 19/08/2015 11:21

Don't care how thin she is or isn't, I'm more interested in how a racist little thug became the nation's sweetheart tbh!

Mintyy · 19/08/2015 11:22

I can't see this woman's ribs

Goshthatsspicy · 19/08/2015 11:22

I can see my ribs when not breathing in.
I'm not underweight. I'm 5 7" and a little under 9 stone. I don't think anyone is shocked at my appearance.

Lurkedforever1 · 19/08/2015 11:24

No ilove but neither does anybody else who's slagging her. And when for sports reasons I've known my exact stats to the nth degree it's very easy to find people with known stats the same as mine being insulted in the media. Or common features like visible ribs and hip bones being slated.
Eating disorders do exist, and I don't know whether she's healthy at that size or not. Some people aren't. Others are though. But the op was about her current appearance. And let's not forget eds aren't limited to being either emaciated, thin, or morbidly obese, they exist at all sizes. Everyone who is actually emaciated or morbidly obese doesn't necessarily have an ed, so no need to assume most thin people do. Again, the double standards, someone on the thin side brings up the likelihood of it being a mental illness. Unless of course I've missed the fact society as a whole also jumps to the conclusion anyone 7lbs heavier than ideal is a binge eater.

Ilovecrapcrafts · 19/08/2015 11:24

Trex there is obviously such a thing as too thin. It's not "too thin for my tastes" when a woman is dying from
Anorexia, for example Hmm

Mintyy · 19/08/2015 11:25

13% body fat is not healthy for a woman.

momb · 19/08/2015 11:25

I don't know who she is and won't be clicking links to the DM or mirror, but I do think that the fashion for extreme thinness can only be storing up metabolic problems for these women in later life.

Mintyy · 19/08/2015 11:25

No one is "slagging" her. Read what people have written, not what you are projecting Lurked.
