To not get the attraction to Johnny Depp

I'm watching finding neverland and I can honestly say I don't get it. I don't get it in any of his films tbh although can see he's a good actor.

I feel by the way every other woman I know goes on about him my eyes may need testing, but he's just so plain.

I think he's a very charismatic actor, who didn't do anything for me in his 20s (I bet he was gutted) but totally did in his 30s and 40s. However - and I realise this is totally ridiculous to judge people I've never met - I did go off him a bit when he hooked up with a much younger woman after he split with Vanessa P. I realise that sounds like I'm implying that his new bird has nothing to offer but her youth (oh, sweet youth!) but I did think "God, do you have to be such a cliche?".

I think he's gorgeous. So there!

But not as gorgeous as Louis Theroux

YANBU.

I find him downright skin-crawly in some roles.

He's too androgynous for my tastes, I like tall, strapping, devilishly handsome men.

He is less attractive these days, but in his heyday he was totally beautiful. But I really like pretty and slightly effeminate men - if you like beefcakes he won't be your type. But also he plays a lot of strange roles, not just romantic leads, so is not necessarily fanciable in every movie -- can understand why OP would not find him attractive when he's playing a quasi-paedophile weirdo for eg!

I was really shocked to learn that Keanu Reeves and his girlfriend lost a baby to stillbirth, and then his girlfriend died not long after as well. Knowing that I think his mildly miserable looking demeanour is a lot more excusable.

YANBU.

However, the fact that I consider the shifty looking Paul Hollywood as top totty should probably be taken into account.

Johnny Depp always looks like he needs a good bath. Soap, shampoo, water all seems to be things he is unfamiliar with.

I don't get the attraction in the slightest. This is very weird because dark haired slightly odd looking blokes with beards are exactly my sort of thing! But not Depp. Never been interested at all.

I hate the glasses that he wears. I think/hope that he is trying to be ironic.

He is very ..... ickle. Teeny weeny men, even teeny weeny pirates dont do it for me. Gerard Butler every time. And Sawyer from Lost. You want a bit of oomph, not some waif like pretty boy who looks like his mind is off with the fairies, not on rogering you senseless.

I've never found him attractive in any film but each to their own.

I was obsessed with Johnny Depp around the time of Cry Baby. These days I'd pass.

Plus I'm bored of his constant kooky act. He needs to expand his acting range.

He was decent when he was younger but now looks a bit too old for the kooky , scruffy ageing rockstar thing.

Also - why do old men choose to ditch their wives for young girls barely in their 20s? It just makes them look even more aged and decrepit by comparison when they stand next to each other... Here he is, looking like he's taking his daughter to a prom, plus one looking less ridiculous with his ex:

He is getting on a bit now, and all beauty rots, but he is/was (in my view) absolutely stunningly sexy. It was nice that he did something for the kids at Great Ormond street as well. I did lose most of my respect for him when he ran off with a vacuous blonde half his age though. For a man who has spent his entire life trying to emphasise how "different" he is, to fill the oldest stereotype in the book was a bit Hmm

It's not unreasonable to not get an attraction to someone though. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would find George Clooney attractive. Or Ryan Gosling who tortured me with his complete lack of acting ability in the film "Drive" Grin

Brad and Johnny are both 52 this year people. Enough of the ageing "badly" comments- they're not gonna look like they did in their twenties any more than the rest of us.

But anyway..... I went off of JD after him leaving his partner for a woman half his age. I don't find that an attractive quality in a man.

I'd still do Brad tho.

"Beautiful" men with chiselled features and smooth skin like a teenager are a total turn-off for me. I like craggy, interesting-looking or twinkly men. The kind of man you see in a perfume ad – just no. blaugh.

Even though a lot of these men like Depp, Clooney and Pitt are now older, they still trade on that perfect-featured, smooth-skinned look (well I'll let Brad off during his beardy phase).

Give me Steve Bucsemi and Hugh Laurie any day.

Yanbu! I refuse to watch anything with him in it. He seems so utterly utterly desperate to be "kooky" original and to escape his orginal marketing as run of the mill hotty. I find him him compleatly one dimensional. Ugh, words can not express my irritation with him & how hard he tries to be different.

Cross posts re everyone already covered his "kooky" & desperate to be different stuff. Brad Pitt in snatch though....He made me reconsider my usual point plank revulsion in Hollywood hot boys
