To not get the attraction to Johnny Depp

I'm watching finding neverland and I can honestly say I don't get it. I don't get it in any of his films tbh although can see he's a good actor.

I feel by the way every other woman I know goes on about him my eyes may need testing, but he's just so plain.

He was stunning way back when but now he's a bit Gary Oldman-ish for my taste.

I agree with the disappointment when gr left his partner of 15 years for a much younger woman and promptly married her. Really out of order to refer to Amber Heard as a 'dumb blonde' but yes, his behaviour here is such a cliche

I suppose you're right, it's probably 25 years since I was reading about them in Big magazine. At the time I though he was SO much older than Winona and now here he is with someone 15 years younger still!

seems a long time ago now

That's because it was a long time ago... a veeerrry loooong time ago.

Apart from Winona! Although the days of Johnny and Winona seems a long time ago now.

His previous girlfriends also tend to the blonde anyway, I don't think it's the blondeness that's the issue.

Anyway wouldn't the world be a fantastically dull place if we all found the same type of people attractive?

I think some of us do squoosh!

I can't understand why anyone would find Brad Pitt attractive (other than in Interview with the vampire with his gorgeous long blonde hair).

He has the personality of a sponge. Look at any pictures of him with various giirlfriends/wives over the years. In every single instance he simply takes their style and morphs into it.

He was the clean minimalist when with Gwen Paltrow, then the All American when with Jennifer Aniston, and is now the weird slightly goth "alternative" type with Angelina.

SPONGE PEOPLE. A SPONGE.

Why do we never say 'dumb brunette'?

In fairness to his wife we don't know if she's a dumb blonde.

I used to find Depp very attractive, but when he left his sexy French wife for a dumb blonde, that was it. I was just so disappointed, such a cliche.

I went off him when he and his wife took 2 dogs into Australia without putting them in quarantine recently.

His mouth reminds me of a cat's bum. That is all I have to say.

Cross posts re everyone already covered his "kooky" & desperate to be different stuff. Brad Pitt in snatch though....He made me reconsider my usual point plank revulsion in Hollywood hot boys

Sylvanian I think you'll find that Mr Buscemi is mine!

Yanbu! I refuse to watch anything with him in it. He seems so utterly utterly desperate to be "kooky" original and to escape his orginal marketing as run of the mill hotty. I find him him compleatly one dimensional. Ugh, words can not express my irritation with him & how hard he tries to be different.

"Beautiful" men with chiselled features and smooth skin like a teenager are a total turn-off for me. I like craggy, interesting-looking or twinkly men. The kind of man you see in a perfume ad – just no. blaugh.

Even though a lot of these men like Depp, Clooney and Pitt are now older, they still trade on that perfect-featured, smooth-skinned look (well I'll let Brad off during his beardy phase).

Give me Steve Bucsemi and Hugh Laurie any day.

Brad and Johnny are both 52 this year people. Enough of the ageing "badly" comments- they're not gonna look like they did in their twenties any more than the rest of us.

But anyway..... I went off of JD after him leaving his partner for a woman half his age. I don't find that an attractive quality in a man.

I'd still do Brad tho.

He is getting on a bit now, and all beauty rots, but he is/was (in my view) absolutely stunningly sexy. It was nice that he did something for the kids at Great Ormond street as well. I did lose most of my respect for him when he ran off with a vacuous blonde half his age though. For a man who has spent his entire life trying to emphasise how "different" he is, to fill the oldest stereotype in the book was a bit Hmm

It's not unreasonable to not get an attraction to someone though. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would find George Clooney attractive. Or Ryan Gosling who tortured me with his complete lack of acting ability in the film "Drive" Grin

very beautiful but - a rather large and feminine bottom which puts me off rather...

He was decent when he was younger but now looks a bit too old for the kooky , scruffy ageing rockstar thing.

Also - why do old men choose to ditch their wives for young girls barely in their 20s? It just makes them look even more aged and decrepit by comparison when they stand next to each other... Here he is, looking like he's taking his daughter to a prom, plus one looking less ridiculous with his ex:

Plus I'm bored of his constant kooky act. He needs to expand his acting range.
