Ok so people are going on about the lion. And as terrible as it is.

"What is the obsession some (American/blokes) have with weapons?"

I suggest that you watch some of the US gun evaluation videos on YouTube. They really do have a strong gun culture, and they compare guns like we would food mixers.

In one of them they were evaluating a small Glock handgun in 9 mm caliber.

The reviewer concluded that he wouldn't carry it in his holster, but "if you are looking for a handy little gun to keep on the top of the fridge, this could be for you"!

mmollytoots · 29/07/2015 19:37

Grammar is the only thing you can pick. Strong argument you have there.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 29/07/2015 19:44

you are not willing to listen to facts other than what you believe to be true.

You want a bunfight by the look of it.

I'm sorry you are bored, but I will not indulge you.

Whiskwarrior · 29/07/2015 19:47

OP is busy on the other thread, calling everyone on this thread hypocrites.

When she eats meat herself.

Hmm
unlucky4marie · 29/07/2015 19:49

Wow at some of you that can't see the link Biscuit

People posting about this lion, in my circle, regularly eat cheap meat without a second thought to the suffering from it but are outraged of the killing of one cute zoo typenanimal. Drives me crazy.

molly you have no argument - the hunter DID NOT KILL TO EAT the lion. Nor, I doubt, did he eat the countless other "trophy" kills he has made over the years. So there is no comparison between this lion kill and the cows killed for food. That is without even going into how the lion suffered and was killed which again is entirely different to the way animals are killed for food.

Do we assume you are entirely vegan? No trainers, handbags etc?

If you want to make a goady thread at least have a proper argument to make.

ilovesooty · 29/07/2015 20:01

substain ?

Kayden · 29/07/2015 20:01

MN used to have a repeat goady fucker who posted obsessively about food (often meat) and had poor grammar. I thought she/he/it had gone but my worst fears have been confirmed. :(

Whiskwarrior · 29/07/2015 20:04

Kayden, have you seen the other thread?

Different OP, same bad mistakes/agenda.

There's TWO of them now!

TobleroneBoo · 29/07/2015 20:05

I eat meat bred for purpose and killed quickly, not endangered animals left to suffer

cardibach · 29/07/2015 20:09

Just for the sake of argument (even though you don't have one) what do you think would happen to the herds of beef cows (for e.g.) if everyone became vegan overnight?
That illustrates the difference between the two, I think.

Salmotrutta · 29/07/2015 20:10

OP many people eat meat but not many of them eat lion.

Many tribes around the world still hunt their meat too.

Are you planning a trip to Africa to go and rant at the San tribe or to Australia to rant at some Aborigines?

How about having a pop at the Inuit too.

Hunting for pleasure and not eating the animal. is wrong - especially an endangered animal but eating meat is not wrong.

Even our closest relatives the Chimps hunt monkeys and eat them.

mmollytoots · 29/07/2015 20:12

whiskwarrior when you were sad enough to look through my past posts I stated I ate xurrts and spag bol.

DId I mention meat am no because I use Quorn Smile

OP posts:
mmollytoots · 29/07/2015 20:13

Ok because there is so many cows available I shall go tonight and behead loads.

I guess that's ok then Hmm

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 29/07/2015 20:13

Beheading a cow or cows for fun would also be wrong. I think you would find there would be an outcry about that, too...what is it a out killing for a purpose you are not getting?

YeOldeTrout · 29/07/2015 20:16

The lion is part of a species that is facing severe habitat danger and ecological pressures. I don't care whether the lion was cute (frigging scary if you ask me, actually), I care that it's part of a species in danger. The hunting of any big game is part of wider sport industry that threatens all big game species, including animals that are severely endangered as a species. It's all morally suspect.

The same cannot be said of livestock bred for eating in the UK.

They have nothing to do with each other.

Whiskwarrior · 29/07/2015 20:16

Whoops, sorry, I read it as you do eat meat!

You're still being a sanctimonious bore though.

Just saying.

Crikey OP. You sound a bit.......ummm.......cerebrally constipated.

Actually more than a bit. You're in the impaction zone.

mmollytoots · 29/07/2015 20:25

whiskwarrior all your previous posts on mumsnet are very judge and extremely negative.

There was over 500 posts but didn't go too far as I have a life to live unlike you.

why are you on mumsnet just to spread your negativity because it makes you feel better about yourself.

You also correct grammer in almost every thread. It's lovely you have so much time on your hands to do this.
