smoked paprika belongs on everything

Savoury. I just seem to add it to everything, shep pie, beans on toast, Greek salad, chips and I can't think of anything it doesn't go on. I've only recently discovered it, but am I over doing it? Everything tastes a bit bbq

DH was complaining my cooking is getting bland because smallest DC does not like anything spicy. DH also has impaired taste buds. The tabasco bottle on the table has solved the problem.

I got the idea from southern mediterranean friends of mine who reckon they cannot eat UK food without tabasco.

Thought of this thread when I saw a sign in Saintsbury's, yesterday. There has been a recall of mild la chinata smoked paprika due to the presence of salmonella in some batches.

Would explain why it's scarce.

you need to buy Hungarian paprika.
just make sure it's the lead-free version!Wink
(massive product re-call due to lead contamination a few years ago caused national outraged in Hungary.
equivalent to prohibition or as if you suddenly couldn't buy tea in England! Grin)
