AIBU to want to shoot HIM with a bow and arrow, track HIM for 2 days, then kill him, skin him and cut his head off????? To see if he then thinks that I 'didn't know I was doing anything wrong'?

OP posts:
ArmySal · 29/07/2015 12:41

He may come from a country which has guns, mummymeister, but they don't have lions there.

He travelled thousands of miles for the pleasure of killing one.

Fuck him.

Flamingopie · 29/07/2015 12:42

YANBU I am pretty sure in the trigger happy country he resides in he will get his come-uppance sooner rather than later. What a complete waste of skin this disgusting pathetic 'man' is. I'd like to see him put in a Roman Coliseum type setting with a lion and no weapon and see what a big brave hunter he is then Angry

vestandknickers · 29/07/2015 12:43

Get a grip people. He is clearly a horrible man, but it is really not ok to say you would like to murder someone!

fancyanotherfez · 29/07/2015 12:44

As much as I hate the thought of big game hunting, I accept that some cretins want to do it and their money may as well go to conservation if they do it legally. I do find it hard to believe that he didn't think it was odd that the lion was led of a game reserve. I bet it was that lion he paid to kill, thinking that if it had been lured off the game reserve it was legal. If it was a lion bred for hunting, presumably he wouldn't have shot one that was the head of a pack, that was being studied and would result in his cub being killed. He knew alright. He paid for the trophy.

Epilepsyhelp · 29/07/2015 12:49

A pursuit he loves. There are no words.

Posing with the body afterwards. Just utterly incomprehensible.

I cannot comprehend why this is legal. If it's not for food or because you are in danger it should not be legal.

chicaguapa · 29/07/2015 12:52

Fishing is entirely different to killing big game for no reason. What if he'd been walking around his home town killing dogs and cats with a crossbow? Would that be acceptable?

ArmySal · 29/07/2015 12:52

I've got a firm hold of a grip, thanks, vestandknickers.

I wouldn't cry over one less cruel selfish bastard in the world.

MaidOfStars · 29/07/2015 12:53

If it's not for food or because you are in danger it should not be legal

I would include old animals, sick animals and herd numbers becoming unstable/not optimum in that list.

HippyDippyRidingPretty · 29/07/2015 12:55

Yup, I'm one of those people...

That motherf***er who killed the lion...
ArmySal · 29/07/2015 12:58

...What, senseless?

SabrinnaInUtopia · 29/07/2015 13:04

I would like to see him extradited and face charges, but I won't hold my breath. I think he must be a very unpleasant man, a sadist even - I'll never understand how anyone could get pleasure from killing like that.

He's in hiding now, isn't he? His business is shut. And he's reportedly very upset. Perhaps he's feeling hunted now.

Mabelface · 29/07/2015 13:08

I think he's an amoral, despicable excuse for a human being. The lion was lured out of the protection of the refuge so that he could be hunted and killed. I don't understand the mentality AT all. I don't want the dickhead killed or skinned, no need, he's having a trial by social media and will probably lose his business. Then he won't be able to afford to go and hunt big game.

FortyCoats · 29/07/2015 13:09

Expressing a desire for revenge or retribution for such a cruel and cowardly act is quite normal imo and doesn't mean we need to start handing out 'grips' to anyone ffs!

Acting on it is a different matter. If that fucker only fantasised about killing those animals we'd be living in a better world. If all the terrorists, paedophiles and serial killers only ever thought about committing their crimes, we'd be grand.

The people who express utter despair, desire for revenge and hopelessness in this crazy, fucked up, unjust world are doing just that - expressing an emotion, they're not homicidal maniacs who intend to commit atrocious crimes.

Sometimes I really think there's a need for people to express their horror at someone else's emotional reaction (however insane it might sound if it were to be a crime in the planning) just so they can buff their goody two shoes badge and an have a sense of how 'just' they are. They don't mean it, they just want admiration for how, in the face of pure evil, malice and wrongful acts, they are able to be 'the better person'!

WHATever Hmm

YouBastardSockBalls · 29/07/2015 13:10

What a cunt.

I don't wish any violence on him though.......just.

His life will be ruined through this. Which is probably fair.

Damnautocorrect · 29/07/2015 13:12

Awful awful man, the affect this has on a whole pride is huge.
I can't wish him the awful prolonged death he subjected the poor lion too, but I'm glad he's feeling hunted now, and I hope he and the others involved feels the full weight of the law.

To be honest the rhino shocked me given the extreme protection the white rhino has and the few numbers.

YouBastardSockBalls · 29/07/2015 13:15

'The six cubs of Cecil will now be killed by the new male lion in the pride, Johnny Rodrigues added, in order to encourage the lionesses to mate with him.
"That's how it works... it's in the wild. It's nature taking its course," he added.'

Angry

Stupid cunt.

scarlets · 29/07/2015 13:19

The only thing that stops me wishing him grave misfortune and agony is the fact that he has two children.

YouBastardSockBalls · 29/07/2015 13:20

'“The saddest part of all is that now that Cecil is dead, the next lion in the hierarchy, Jericho, will most likely kill all Cecil’s cubs so that he can insert his own bloodline into the females.”'

Still though, at least that vile bastard got to feel big for a bit.

Atrocious cunt.

TheWitTank · 29/07/2015 13:21

He deserves every ounce of embarrassment and worry he is receiving. I hope he gets knob rot.

dimdommilpot · 29/07/2015 13:26

Its a shockingly shit thing to do. That poor animal :( there seems to be more and more stories appearing of this nature. There really is no need and i hope he rots in hell when his time comes. The pathetic bastard.

drudgetrudy · 29/07/2015 13:27

It isn't at all unreasonable to feel like that OP. Obviously no-one can act on those feelings-we can just hope that he has a really stressful, crap time.

Damnautocorrect · 29/07/2015 13:49

I think the fact there are more stories reported is great, the hunting has always happened only now the outrage is widespread thanks to the reporting. It's how things change.

DrDre · 29/07/2015 13:56

Aren't lions an endangered species? You would hope if someone had to go hunting they would at least hunt animals that aren't at risk.

Plateofcrumbs · 29/07/2015 13:56

I was going to say I hate all killing of animals for killings sake, regardless. But actually it is worse to kill a rare and beautiful creature, in the same way destroying a work of art would be deplored. I just cannot get my head around the mentality of it.

CrystalCove · 29/07/2015 13:57

There's a big difference between saying you want to kill someone and actually doing it! Humans are emotional beings and this despicable act by this complete psychopath will have stirred up normal emotions of pain, disgust, anger etc...and yes also a desire for "revenge".
