Bedroom door - what about yours?

Random, I know. Do you sleep with your door open or closed? I'm sure years ago I used to have it closed, but after getting a cat, kept it open. Would be so weird for me to have it closed now!

How about you? How about your dcs?

All doors at least a bit open. I'm partially deaf and wouldn't hear a crying child behind a closed door. And it makes me feel very claustrophobic to be shut in a room.

Ajar, this is probably from years of having cats and them scratching to be let in or let out. I haven't had a cat in over a year now, but a wide open door freaks me out. I have to get out of bed to push it to just the right amount of ajar-ness otherwise I can't relax.

I don't like having it shut either. Feels as though there's no air, but if the windows open then the doors rattle in the frame.

I always leave DSs bedroom door ajar too.

Earthquakes far more common here than house fires :)

Yes, we've done night time rehearsals. Smoke, CO, heat detectors every floor hard wired into house alarm. One window without opening restrictor (our en suite) and escape ladder under bed. Fire extinguishers on each floor and fire blankets in the kitchens.

Doors open :)

Appreciate in the UK earthquakes are less of an issue, but not everyone is bonkers for sleeping with doors open. Have you ever heard someone screaming while the house is rocking and their door frames are buckled and they can't open the door? Thought not.

I have to sleep with mine closed. I always sleep closest to the door (throwback to when DS was a child) and worry that I will wake up in the night to see someone standing there looking at me. Silly, I know Blush
