31 years? That is a little gross Tom and it says so so much about you and none of it good imo.

Yeah, I'm sorry I can't believe that P Cruz would be in an entirely false relationship, nor Kidman. I mean Cruz didn't need him at that point.

I suspect he is an enormously charming person full of stories and fun to be around. I bet he woos like a loon and throws some serious cash at it and can sweep a girl off her feet. If... she is younger and maybe vulnerable to an international charm offensive.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen I logged on to say the exact same thing. . .

Great minds???

NickiFury · 23/07/2015 16:12

I don't think it's all false either but I do think that once Suri was born KH quite naturally wanted to get her child out from under the Scientology bizarreness.

howabout · 23/07/2015 16:14

He is just unreasonable full stop!

Unreasonable for starting off with Mimi Rodgers. Unreasonable for splitting up with Nicole Kidman (I liked Eyes Wide Shut). Unreasonable for Katie Holmes who should have married Dawson and was almost as much younger as the current model. Cameron Diaz and him made a good couple in Knight & Day but I expect she wouldn't be bothered with all his nonsense.

Worst of all last time I watched Top Gun I had definitely lost that lovin feelin as he looked far too young for me. Sad

Still watching MI4 when it gets to the telly and hoping to suspend my misgivings. Rock climbing at the start of MI2 is one of my favourite movie openings.

Was going to say John Travolta should have retired gracefully after Pulp fiction but I actually loved his performance in Hairspray.

Cannot get my head around Daniel Craig as Bond at all so not even going to bother with Spectre.

No real interest in movie star's private lives as it just ruins my enjoyment of their on-screen efforts.

Loving how the relationship is being described, 'he only leaves her side long enough to shoot a scene, and immediately back by her side' Hmm, this is 'the biggest crush', 'bad crush' etc .Sooo.. he wasn't having a BAD crush when he was jumping up and down on Oprah's sofa Hmm (talking about Katie), i remember when he was also on Oprah's sofa with Nicole Kidman, i don't know wether he got an invite to Oprah when he was with Mimi rogers. Bet there's another Oprah invite on the way again Grin. Love hollywood!

HawkEyeTheNoo · 23/07/2015 16:15

But I loves him!! Hmm (Totally ignoring gay or weird church facts) I totally loves him sooooo much !

SoupDragon · 23/07/2015 16:15

Cocolepew · 23/07/2015 16:16

I read he wanted out of his weirdo cult. How could he ever leave? Bet they have loads on him.

NickiFury · 23/07/2015 16:17

I have to say I have always found him very likeable in interviews apart form the Oprah debacle he was very funny and charming on Graham Norton and other chat shows. Wouldn't want to married to him though.

annandale · 23/07/2015 16:24

I dunno, I have a soft spot for old Tom. He should stop getting married then we'd all shut up about it a bit more. Agree with Nigelslaterfan that I bet he's a riot to go out with, but I wonder if he is always 'on' which would be exhausting in the end.

NatGeo · 23/07/2015 16:26

I remember watching one of his interviews (i think it was Graham Norton) his trousers were so tight fitting and moulded to his skin, he couldn't lift his leg to cross them properly, his leg kind of got stuck mid air for a split second as he tried to manoeuvre the move...i thought oh dear! please don't split your trousers on national tv!

Inkanta · 23/07/2015 16:36

Must admit he looks much younger than his 53 years. So she's 22 is she. If she was my daughter I'd be concerned about the age gap but also this cult power and control.

So run for it Emily run!

nulgirl · 23/07/2015 16:41

Yuk, How creepy. Classic case of older rich man with pretty young girl.

Is he not also meant to be very controlling with his partners and then there is the whole Scientology angle?

Bet her parents are worried sick - unless they are the kind of parents who only see £ signs

etKrusTe · 23/07/2015 16:42

somebody on the daily mail website (comments) claims to know her and her boyfriend!

This was fun reading a few years ago. Especially when Katie did a runner.

RiverTam · 23/07/2015 16:49

I read an article recently (Buzzfeed) discussing Hiw few leading Hollywood Stars are out. In other areas on entertainment, yes, but not actors, it's quite rare. Clearly the studio bosses really don't want their bankable big stars to be known to bat for the other Sude. Which is just Hmm however you look at it.

It's the religion with TC, though. Grimbles.

RiverTam · 23/07/2015 16:49

Whoops, typotastic, sorry!

specialsubject · 23/07/2015 17:04

the girl may be too young to know all the history, but 30 secs on google should tell her what is going to happen.

if this fruitloop is the best she thinks she can do - well, she's an adult and she makes her own choices.

seaoflove · 23/07/2015 17:09

It's not creepy when it's a beardy showmance Wink

I'm sure she willingly went through a gruelling selection process.

LaurieFairyCake · 23/07/2015 17:14

It's not the age gap, it's not too bad with a 50 year old and 80 year old.

But 22 and 53 is totally off. Very different life stages and it's verging on the creepy for me.

ScoutRifle · 23/07/2015 17:22

Oh FFS I wish people would just grow the fuck up.
Slating 2 consenting adults because they dare to have a relationship when there is a 30 year age gap...
Then slating someone's religious choices...
And finally calling them gay...
Only on MN.

LaurieFairyCake · 23/07/2015 17:26

18 is considered an adult - still wouldn't like an 18 year old going out with a 48 year old.

I think the same about 22. She might be an adult but she's still very young.

I'm close to 48 and the thought of getting off with my best mates youngest son is beyond creepy and really icky.

MitzyLeFrouf · 23/07/2015 17:38

Only on MN? Nah, it seems that most of the internet is of the same opinion where Tom Cruise and his creepy 'religion' is concerned.

meglet · 23/07/2015 17:47

I don't think it's a relationships between consenting adults. she'll probably have a contract for a year or two.

Stepawayfromthezebras · 23/07/2015 17:49

Scientology doesn't approve of homosexuality, L Rom Hubbard wrote that gay people were "perverts" and should either be quarantined, institutionalised, "processed" or "disposed of quietly and without sorrow"
