Well Tom Cruise is GAY, so yes this latest farcical situation is entirely unreasonable. These 'marriages' of his are all about appearances. If she goes through with it I'm guessing it will last until she wants to have a family - which given her young age could be about 10 years. He had a 10-year deal with Nicole Kidman, so that seems to be his form.

I know this is considered orthodoxy but I don't see why we all know he's gay.

I mean we all know he's weird for certain. We only have to see him with Oprah to know that he is really weird two minutes after his PR rep leaves him and before he can be managed back into a box marked 'normal behaviour for an A lister'.

I don't think sexuality is nearly as cut and dried as everyone thinks. I can imagine him being omnisexual, bi-sexual, whatever or to move merrily between the various positions in various positions. Why not? I wouldn't hold any of that against him. I don't think all these women would marry him if he didn't have some hetero inclinations. It seems implausible that he is just one thing. Artists have the freedom to do it all, particularly rich ones.

I don't think we know what anyone is, even when people declare it. I think sexuality is not a fixed position over a lifetime.

And I don't mind a closet homosexual in this culture given our hostility to homosexuality until relatively recently. But I do object to a gay person opposing gay rights. Having said that, in a democracy I shouldn't dictate what another person chooses to vote.

Reading between the lines it looks like Cruise's access to his daughter is related to Scientology. Holmes looks like she is playing hardball. She looks so tough to me and good for her.

I think that this is just the latest in a line of PR -fed stories to remind us that he's a big manly man's man. No, not that kind. And to create buzz for the forthcoming MI5 movie. I don't thonk that here actually together. But yes, all is other couplings have been odd. NK didn't lose interest. She didn't have a shit hot father and brother lawyer team behind her telling her exactly how to get rid of TC and minimise his contact with Suri the way that KH did. I reckon KH has something big on him and that's why he has relinquished contact with his daughter with minimum fuss.
