I want to take a photo of them and show it to them. Its never a good look

TheHouseOnBellSt · 06/07/2015 13:47

Good for you.

Hmm
WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 06/07/2015 13:48

Even sadder in this downpour!

tangledtanga · 06/07/2015 13:48

I doubt they are out there to look good. Self righteousness is never a good look.

FineDamBeaver · 06/07/2015 13:48

Oh I can't help envying them, Teal. I miss smoking.

TealFanClub · 06/07/2015 13:49

pinched bewrinkled faces

Drawing sharply as they survey their £19.99 shoes.

And then they'd say 'oh yes, it's a picture of me doing what I was just doing: enjoying a cigarette'.

I'd like to take a picture of people walking past smokers with pursed lips feeling superior and then waft it in front of their supercilious faces. Never a good look.

FineDamBeaver · 06/07/2015 13:51

Still envy them. I've got a pinched bewrinkled face, £8 shoes and no fags.

TealFanClub · 06/07/2015 13:51

snorty laughter

OP posts:
TheOriginalSteamingNit · 06/07/2015 13:51

Jesus, you pay a lot of attention if you're noticing and pricing their shoes!

Find something better to do, OP.

TealFanClub · 06/07/2015 13:51

they never look HAPPY from their fag, though, Just stressed

maybe it was me with the camera

OP posts:
FineDamBeaver · 06/07/2015 13:53

Bet they were more stressed before the ciggie, though...

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 06/07/2015 13:53

I'm happy reading a book, but I don't sit there beaming!

I don't smoke any more, but I distinctly remember enjoying cigarettes when I did. In fact, I think that might be why I kept doing it, come to think of it....

Don't worry about it: I'm sure if they were having a nasty time they could realise it by themselves without any twats looking on with pursed lips and judging their shoes.

owlborn · 06/07/2015 13:54

I'm always kind of jealous of the smokers. From the times I've hung out with the smokers, there's always a bit of camaraderie, a bit of chat. And man, do smokers know what is going on in a building before anyone else!

TealFanClub · 06/07/2015 13:56

oh these werent chatting OOOH NO
all scattered about outside the DHSS type building. With shoes on and wrinkles

OP posts:
VodkaJelly · 06/07/2015 13:58

OOh yes owlborn, I am a non smoker but at work my good friend was a smoker and was always in the smoking hut, my god, she knew the gossip, who was shagging who, why so and so was sacked etc. I was most miffed when she gave up smoking as her gossip knowledge plummeted.

FineDamBeaver · 06/07/2015 14:00

The establishment's fucked them over. Got them hooked on nicotine them turned them out onto the streets in inadequate footwear. They're too busy thinking anti-establishment thoughts to gossip these days.

ApocalypseNowt · 06/07/2015 14:01

Just shoes and wrinkles? I agree that probably isn't a good look. I usually manage to wriggle into some cheapo clothes too inbetween sad fags and dodging weirdos with cameras trying to take my picture and show me it.

TealFanClub · 06/07/2015 14:07

Grin at Apocalypse

OP posts:
pissoffheadache · 06/07/2015 14:07

Let me know when you are next around and I will smile for you. Sometimes even if I do not want a cigarette then I will join my colleagues just for the gossip :)

GlitzAndGigglesx · 06/07/2015 14:07

I miss smoking and if I ever looked sad it would be because I was sad before the fag. Smoking is a great social thing too...how else would I have known about my boss being moved due to a workplace affair? Grin

CuttedUpPear · 06/07/2015 14:08

I wish smoking was just a LITTLE bit bad for you.

Bad enough to keep away the bouncy, sporty types, and super-busy managers. But not bad enough to kill you.

Then it would be ace. I want to stand with the smokers again.

poppym12 · 06/07/2015 14:13

I used to enjoy leaving my office for a cigarette break. it got me away from sanctimonious, shoe judging type old hags who's main topic of conversation was whatever crap had been on telly the night before. I'm cigarette free these days, and remain wrinkle free. I do prefer to be barefoot though.

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 06/07/2015 14:14
Hmm AHEM
