Wee sample in mil bathroom

basilflower · 06/07/2015 08:40

Just walked into the bathroom in my mil house. There is a wee sample on the side. AIBU to think this is grim, or because it's her house is it acceptable to leave wee samples wherever you like?

OP posts:
deriant · 06/07/2015 09:08

Plenty of people with health problems have to give regular urine samples to the GP. I suspect she just forgot she left it there, and was probably embarrassed when she realised.

winkywinkola · 06/07/2015 09:08

If you don't like to see other people's wee then use your own bathroom.

I can't believe how petty some people are.

Writtenbyme · 06/07/2015 09:11

I don't think you are being unreasonable to be a bit disturbed by it. You wasn't expecting to see it.

Do you know why it is there? And did she warn you when she saw you going in the bathroom?

And when you say 'sample' is it in a medical container with a lid ready to be taken to the doctor or something else?

FarFromAnyRoad · 06/07/2015 09:13

It's a well known medical fact that even casting your eye upon someone else's wee will cause all manner of hideous repercussions for you. You will break out in boils, your skin will peel off and your mind will be irreparably damaged for ever and ever.
So I suppose what I am trying to say is YABU and so precious. So so precious.

DonkeyOaty · 06/07/2015 09:14

I would think oh crikey is she ill, not urghhh how grim

Sorry, yabu

FarFromAnyRoad · 06/07/2015 09:15

"Did she warn you it was going to be there" Hahahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Oh fuck - OP didn't say - is it a vicious biting sample? She really should have been warned in that case!

FanFuckingTastic · 06/07/2015 09:22

Feels like I spend half my life weeing in pots. I have a stack of disposable cups and a tub of urinalysis sticks plus several empty sample pots in my bathroom, that way I can check urine for signs of infection, dip them for confirmation, and pee in that pot ready for the doctors visit I am about to need.

Hardly grim.

seanbonbon · 06/07/2015 09:30

She probably left it there by mistake, it's really none of your business. Confused

BertrandRussell · 06/07/2015 10:00

Even the most vociferous anti mil person would struggle with this one. Although "did she warn you"? was a good try!

There wasn't an upside down crucifix in it was there? I can see why that might be disturbing..............

FieldTrip · 06/07/2015 10:03

Yes, Bertrand. Being "warned" that there was wee in the bathroom, now that would be weird.

Bue · 06/07/2015 10:15

There's a wee sample in my bathroom at the moment. I'm taking it to the GP in a hour. The horror!

holeinmyheart · 06/07/2015 10:17

I would find it quite unkind if I though my DIL's were spying on me and what I have got in my own bathroom and then posting on MN.
If the boot was on the other foot and she came around to your house and saw a pair of dirty pants on your bedroom floor and then posted the fact on MN, what would you think of her?
YABU

Teabagbeforemilk · 06/07/2015 10:18

Ffs I was rushed into hospital when pg and sent straight to do a urine test, the previous pg woman had done hers and forgot it on the side. Even that didn't bother me. This was in one of those brown cardboard bowls not even covered. Poor woman was stood waiting for me to leave when I came out, she was mortified. Bless her

It's a sample in her own bathroom, in a tub.

CrystalHaze · 06/07/2015 10:23
Biscuit
BertrandRussell · 06/07/2015 10:29

Actually- the more I think about this the nastier it gets.

WhetherOrNot · 06/07/2015 11:00

What a delicate little flower you are, OP Shock

whois · 06/07/2015 11:05

It's wee in a plastic pot, the wee won't jump out and lick you. Grow up.

Lateswim16 · 06/07/2015 11:08

Think you need to grow up love.

You post sounds unbelievably childish.

msgrinch · 06/07/2015 11:09

I'd be more concerned that she was ill! some people are so preciou. It's wee not acid.

HaleMary · 06/07/2015 11:19

Yes, isn't the obvious response to hope she isn't ill with anything serious? It's urine, for God's sake. You might have more of a point if it was a stool sample.

Lateswim16 · 06/07/2015 11:31

Hopefully mil is ok as can't see much support being forthcoming here. Come on op it's just wee! Grin

Pagwatch · 06/07/2015 11:55

Grin at 'did she warn you?'

'Yes, by all means use the bathroom but I must just give you notification of a urine sample in the vicinity. Be aware it is not dangerous although it may, of course, give you evils. Do not attempt to feed it'

BertrandRussell · 06/07/2015 12:02

"You might have more of a point if it was a stool sample."

Even then the poor bloody woman probably didn't leave it there on purpose!!!!!

woolymum · 06/07/2015 12:13

mil is gutted she left it out.....

she had planned on hiding it in the kitchen to put it in your coffee later.

HaleMary · 06/07/2015 12:18

God, no, of course not, Bertrand - but in terms of the highly visceral disgusted reaction of the OP to an innocuous vial of yellowish water, she might be forgiven more easily for being disgusted by an accidentally-abandoned stool sample, in the unlikely event someone left it out in an unsealed jar on the sink...
