What were Always thinking? They were the only brand in the shop and they smell vile! Why? Why would anyone choose this? Confused

OP posts:
ouryve · 03/07/2015 16:40

Is this where I sarcastically shriek "oooh! get you!"?Hmm

kali110 · 03/07/2015 16:45

Each to there own puppy!
They make me ( and others) feel more confident

cardibach · 03/07/2015 16:48

Eminado given that you aren't using mattress protectors, it wasn't unreasonable for ouryve to suggest them...it's their very obviousness that made her, I should think. If you had thought of them, why aren't you using them? You might still want to get up and change as flooding isn't comfortable, but you seems most worried about mattress damage...
Always 'scented' (bit of a misnomer - is 'stinked' a word?) are vile though.

BlinkieBill · 03/07/2015 16:51

I'm another who now doesn't buy Always because they stink!

leedy · 03/07/2015 16:55

The scented ones are repulsive, yes. If I'd wanted to Febreze my fanjo I'd have etc. etc.

lemonade30 · 03/07/2015 16:57

kali I wasn't aware that you could offend peoples sensibilities with opinions regarding sanpro no matter how misinformed they have subsequently turned out to be.

seriously, my comments were 'not nice' ?

how unkind is it possible to be when discussing tampons vs pads?

I obviously possess powers of indiscriminate bitchiness that I was heretofore unaware of

or you really couldn't find fuck all else to be offended by, in which case lucky old you.

kali110 · 03/07/2015 17:12

Or you possibly just like to try and wind posters up? Got it.

SeraOfeliaFalfurrias · 03/07/2015 17:24

''yes, has anybody ever smelt another woman's period? Really??''

Well, not so much smelling the period but I can certainly smell when a woman is using scented sanpro, it's smells awful!

I didn't use any for a good 5 years due to having baby/mirena. There were no (or hardly any) scented towels when I left the sanpro aisle. When I returned a year or two ago and naively started using the offerings at work (yes, my work provided sanpro) it took me a couple of days to figure out where the awful smell was coming from, then realised to my great shame that it was me!

Now it's strictly my mooncup and my washable pads. Happy days.

I can't help but imagine what horrors the mixture of the current trend for porn-shaved fanjos and chemical crap in sanitary towels must induce in women's delicate regions!

bumbleymummy · 03/07/2015 17:29

Grin at Miaow sniffing out the sanitary section in the supermarket.

Stampys that sounds awful. It must be so uncomfortable for you. I guess I am lucky. Although I do get awful IWantToDivorceDHandGoandLiveAloneInTheMountains PMS every month Hmm

I find this quite intriguing Kal - so you can't smell the flowery smell through your clothes (as you said in your post) but they make you feel more confident. If you can't smell it, how does it make any difference to your confidence?

lemonade30 · 03/07/2015 17:47

I find it an interesting concept that you could be 'wound up' by a person assuming, however wrongly that sanitary towels are not the preferred form of sanitary protection for adult women.

how could that offend you? am I missing some momentous implication that I made by my comment?

do you align your maturity as a woman with what's stuck to your knickers/shoved up your fanjo?

do you think I intended to malign your womanhood because you're a proponent of bodyform rather than tampax?

kali110 · 03/07/2015 17:56

Im going to assume you have heatstroke which is the cause for your twatty posts lemonade.

kali110 · 03/07/2015 17:59

Nope, can't smell the horrible flowery smell ( though i don't hate the smell so that's possibly why i can't smell it!) but i also don't smell anythingelse so i also feel less self conscious. That's always good !
I'v always been very sensitive with smells and tastes though, since i were a child.

kali110 · 03/07/2015 18:00

Actually lemonade i prefer tampons so you got that wrong Grin

lemonade30 · 03/07/2015 18:02

rather than explain how I managed to offend you kali?
You'll just say I'm not nice call my opinions twatty and not bother to explain yourself?

fitting.

I believe you're pretty proficient at assumption.

so do crack on.

lemonade30 · 03/07/2015 18:06

why assume that the 'you' within my comment was personal to yourself kali?

rather than intended for the totality of posters who according to your good self I've somehow inadvertently managed to gravely offend?

andyourlittledogtoo · 03/07/2015 18:07

AIBU to think sanitary towels shouldn't... Exist?!?

lemonade30 · 03/07/2015 18:09

not in book doggy, obviously.

I'm certain others will be along shortly to beg to differ though.

(or call you a twat or whatever)

kali110 · 03/07/2015 18:13

I think people have already explained why your post was offensive and your posts to me are twatty.
It's funny how other people have said the same yet your only replying to me?
I refuse to get dragged into this any futher by you as i'll no doubt only be deleted.
If you can't see why your first few comments weren't taken well ( by everybody bar one person!) then ot's a waste of time.

kali110 · 03/07/2015 18:14

Never called you a twat either, i said your responses are twatty.

Sallystyle · 03/07/2015 18:15

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but how absorbent are the washable pads?

I use a moon cup and a towel to catch the leaks as I have very heavy periods.

I suffer a lot with thrush and hate wearing towels. I am interested in the washable ones but need something that won't need changing too often when I start my new job.

kali110 · 03/07/2015 18:15

Why doggy? ( though i would love periods not too exist)

Sallystyle · 03/07/2015 18:16

Oh FFS.

Lemonade made a wrong assumption.

No offence meant I am sure.

lemonade30 · 03/07/2015 18:19

I am replying to you kali because despite my own explanation and indeed apology for my false assumption, which was accepted by previous posters you continued to describe my views as not nice and my request for an explanation as twatty.

I consider your behaviour to be in rather poor taste as I explained I was not cognisant of prolapse/pelvic floor/continence issues faced by some women following childbirth which necessitates the preference for sanitary towels.

In light of my explanation and apology I find your behaviour on this thread rather perplexing and you have done nothing to assuage my misgivings about you.

kali110 · 03/07/2015 18:32

Or people with no health problems at all who just choose to use them as demonstrated on this thread?
Actually i am not the only person to mention it there have been a few people since but again you've only mentioned me.
You can think what you want about me, that is fine you don't know me as i don't you. Smile
