I've just read that they ARE divorcing. I was hoping it was all vicious rumour. They seemed like a genuine, real couple. Can nobody ever stay married in Hollywood?

he's way more successful than her. she's had successes but he is by far the more prolific and successful.

Spog - I meant she was the more famous of the two when they met. And I doubt that at the young age of 40 she was desperate enough to become a beard for the sake of companionship and security. And how would she feel when their kids are grown and find out it's all been a charade? I think these rumours stem from her being 13 years older than him. Some people can't get their heads around a handsome chap finding an older woman attractive.

I've read rumours about Tom Hams on Crazy days and Nights but that website is nuts. They have crazy rumours about everyone. If the star is male, he's a predator. If she's female, she's a victim. Otherwise, they're gay. Their big story about TH is that he likes to spend quality time with his leading ladies, and that after Audrey Tatou refused to sleep with him, she was blackballed in Hollywood and it effectively ended her career. This is likely to be bullshit.

Why on earth would a brilliantly intelligent, successful and beautiful woman like Amal sign up to spend the best years of her life married to George Clooney as somebody's beard? Actually don't answer that!

5 years isn't enough time though for GC to build a political career, which I thought was his aim and why a wife is necessary. There will be political/career advantage for Amal in that setup too so I reckon it's for the long haul.

It might not matter to us Pass but in vast parts of the world it unfortunately still does including the US. The financial cost to someone's career would be huge.

BA and JG don't surprise me at all. I read rumours a few years ago that she was a beard. The BC rumours are prolific as well.

unfortunately homophobia is still rife in hollywood. he will miss out on major projects and significant earnings if he comes out. something he's not used to, at least in the last 20 years since he became a star.
yeah - gay men can play straight parts no problem, just look at neil patrick harris in gone girl.
but sadly many stars remain in the closet for a multitude of reasons, not just for fear of losing earnings and prestige.
