People who are doing it WRONG

My Dad loves to talk about how he enjoys a good barbecue in this weather, once he even invited a lot of family round for one.

His version of a BBQ is a George Formby grill (natch), and in nice weather he plugs it in outside to cook a burger or sausage on. He is quite evangelical about how clever it is to barbecue that way.

It gives me the gritted teeth rage.

Anyone else who is doing it ALL WRONG? Offload here Brew

To fasten at the back you have to put your arms through the straps, lean a bit forward to find the natural bottom of the boobs, put cups in place, THEN reach around the back to do the clasps. Then put the straps over the shoulders and scoop boobs to adjust.
It stretches the straps less and you get an almost perfect fit from the start.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/07/2015 09:13

Well, we'll have to agree to differ there, it has never worked for me.

Lweji · 19/07/2015 09:17

Because you're doing the front fastening wrong.
Many people have described the best front fastening method. Try it. Not yours. What is described here and let us know.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/07/2015 09:28

Not sure what you mean? My front fastening works perfectly, it's back fastening that doesn't. I've tried it as described here on various occasions, it never works as well as swivelling, so I'm sticking with swivelling.

Has anyone mentioned a salad garnish on fish and chips? It's usually a horrid bit of iceberg lettuce, a thick slice of cucumber and tomato. The other day there was a slice of orange for heavens sake! Angry

Why?

Lweji · 19/07/2015 09:36

Sorry. I meant back fastening, of course. :)
I only mention it because you mentioned the problem of cups and straps falling out.
As I put the cups in place, I then slide my fingers along the bra to hold it in place and go straight to the clasps. I only adjust the straps after clasping anyway. And don't forget scooping.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/07/2015 09:49

I see. I always scoop. I'm really not going to change, been swivelling for 30 years perfectly happily.

Thorn - orange in salad is always wrong IMO, let alone with fish and chips.

Lweji · 19/07/2015 09:50

Yes, it's fine to do it either way. That is what matters. Both methods can work. :)

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/07/2015 09:51

Smile.

As a concession, I will try and teach DD to do it properly when the time comes.

"Has anyone mentioned a salad garnish on fish and chips? It's usually a horrid bit of iceberg lettuce, a thick slice of cucumber and tomato."

I've had lemon slices on fish and chips before, but I don't think you're supposed to eat the garnish, it's just there to dress up the meal. The garnish you suggest is similar to what caterers usually stick on a foil tray of cut sandwiches for buffets. I was once told at a buffet to stop eating the cherry tomatoes and lettuce because it was solely for decoration. Sad

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/07/2015 18:00

Lemon squeezed onto fish is delicious, definitely not just a garnish as far as I am concerned.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 19/07/2015 18:20

Of COURSE you need lemon with fish!

PuppyMonkey · 19/07/2015 19:39

I would just like to say, I currently have a frozen shoulder and doing my bra up at the back would be AngrySadShockHmmConfused

Ouch.

Swivelling all the way.

Trills · 19/07/2015 19:57

"I can't do it when I am injured" is not a sensible argument in favour of "that's not the way it should be done".

PuppyMonkey · 20/07/2015 09:36

Sorry Trills, I forgot MN only allows sensible arguments. Grin
