Ooh Dingit.. You need California Dreaming by the Mamas and Papas, Califorina Love by Tupac, lots of Beach Boys, and Joni Mitchell hissing of summer lawns album for more mello moments.. Let's all do a list for you.

Maladicta · 25/06/2015 09:14

Omar's There's Nothing Like This is just perfect. I've just put a new stereo in my mx5 and with the top down on a country road in the sunshine it's just the best way to spend some chill time Smile

Thank god for air con so I can keep my windows closed while I drive and block most of the crap music from other cars out.

BTW the album of summer driving is actually Forever Changes by the 60s rock band Love. Or anything by the Beach Boys.

ASorcererIsAWizardSquared · 25/06/2015 10:32

its "get your rocks off" by primal scream for me!

keeptothewhiteline · 25/06/2015 10:44

Tacky to have your windows down if you are playing loud music.

Not everyone enjoys your taste.

Unless you are in a traffic jam pedestrians aren't going to have to put up with it for long are they.

IrianofWay · 25/06/2015 10:51

Only on the open road, not in traffic in town. Otherwise you are just being a bit selfish.

Bunbaker · 25/06/2015 11:05

I wouldn't in town either.

No but enough time to think you are a wanker.

haveabreakhaveakitkat · 25/06/2015 11:16

I think most posters are agreed on turning down the music in built up areas or at traffic lights and junctions. I'd be mortified to be caught out Shaking it off to Taylor Swift!

Keeptothewhiteline Grin

CordeliaFoxx · 25/06/2015 11:43

I don't turn it down at traffic lights or town - unless I'm listening to the radio and something tragic like 1D comes on!

WhereYouLeftIt · 25/06/2015 12:01

For country roads it has to be these two -

Driving a little faster (not that fast with the windows open Grin) it would have to be

CatOfTheGreenGlades · 25/06/2015 12:07

Actually I agree about not blasting it out. In cities/slow-moving traffic, I don't have it on really loud at all, so as not to bother people and also because you need to be able to hear to drive safely. You turn it up a bit louder on the open road because having the windows open is noisy.

So I'm not blasting anyone, they may be able to hear it at the lights if I have the window open, but it won't deafen them.

It may well be "Shake it off" though so sorry to anyone who's had their taste insulted.

:o That's exactly what me and DD are like when Taylor Swift comes on in the car (apart from the taking the hands off the wheel thing Shock)

haveabreakhaveakitkat · 25/06/2015 13:03

I went to see Taylor Swift with my eldest dd last year. I actually got weepy eyed when she did shake it off. Pmpl.

i don't care if its tacky, for the few moments someone has to hear it it, i couldn't care less!

but then i live in quite a rural area and the only people who get blasted are the mums on the school run with me, lol.
