AIBU?
AIBU to ask what's the hot craze among 8-9 year old girls?

My niece is 8 on Friday, and I need to get her a present - something I can get from Amazon Prime, really. I'm largely nc with her mother so can't ask for suggestions. I know it's awful of me to leave it so late but I've been pretty ill recently, with an operation scheduled for next week, and it's just slipped my mind until this morning. So those of you with girls of about this age, what is 'in' at the moment?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

At the moment I don't notice any one big craze but if you get her cafty stuff then she'll like it....Claire's have sets of make your own jewellry aimed at girls this age...a nice jewellry box might be a good choice too....my girls also love sets which let them make snow globes.

Top model friendship book on Amazon. My dd got one as a present and has given one to her 2 friends turning 9 and it was a hit.
No big craze at the moment (loom bands were 2014) dd and her friends like mine craft, video star app and playing Harry Potter.

Not Hunger Games for a nine year old. Don't know of any real crazes but I know DS female friends are really into these karaoke and dance games you get for games consoles. If they don't have one why not put together a 'girl's night kit' she can use with you or her mum? Girly DVD, wee nail polishes a facemask, lip balms, popcorn etc.

Anything from here www.smiggle.co.uk/shop/en/smiggleuk#
We had a Smiggle shop open in our town last year and all the girls I know love their stuff.

God, it's like another world! I only have a tiny DS so we're still on Lamaze toys here. Thanks everyone! That's really helpful. I think I'm going to get her the journal thing (thanks, dixie !) because I've got her crafty things for the last couple of birthdays, so a change might be nice.
