To hate when neighbours sign for my parcels

Especially neighbours I do not even know. I understand it's a nice thing some do but if you aren't in all day then I have to constantly go back and forth knocking on the door hoping you are in.
It's so annoying, why can't people just refuse it? I refuse to do it only my upstairs neighbour I sign for because we have a communal bit that I can leave the parcel for when he returns.
A neighbour few doors down signed for my expensive parcel from harrods and hasn't been in since it was signed for at 11am
Should I leave a note?

wow... parcel-angst threads are weird. I take parcels in for my neighbours, they take them in for me. Always been the same wherever I've lived.

a short time after I moved in here I took in a neighbour's delivery - double bed frame, and mattress. They were in work. No problem, as they didn't expect me to carry it in for them! (we did help with it, though!)
Apparently it was delivered before the time it was supposed to be, had it been on time there'd have been someone in to take delivery. It's just being neighbourly.

OP, I'd be glad it was left with a neighbour rather than delivered to recycling bin or lobbed over the back fence...

Just had a text to say my neighbour has taken delivery for ds1's new bike, thus saving me a 1 hour trip through rush hour traffic. What a cow.

Barbarianmum.....some phones allow to block certain numbers...worth considering when you get nasty texts like that!
